As the leader of the Dallas Cowboys<\/a><\/strong> and the team\u2019s starting quarterback Troy Aikman\u2019s job often entailed managing some of the biggest personalities in the game \u2013 perhaps none bigger than Michael Irvin. <\/p>\n

Discussing Irvin\u2019s battles with another monster personality \u2013 Deion Sanders \u2013 Aikman revealed how he went about trying to manage the Cowboys receiver\u2019s competitive nature. The former Dallas quarterback shared an example on the Dan Patrick Show<\/a><\/em> this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yeah, there would be\u2026 he\u2019d draw coverage, of course, there\u2019d be two, sometimes three guys, on him,\u201d Aikman said. \u201cThe guys called me Roy, he\u2019d say \u2018Roy, you gotta throw it up to me, give me chance!\u2019 I said, \u2018Michael, I\u2019m not throwing it into triple coverage.\u2019 But him, like all of them, the great ones, they always feel like they have a chance, that\u2019s what makes them great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Irvin\u2019s exuberant personality and strong opinions helped him land a role as a sports commentator following his career on the field. <\/p>\n

The former first-rounder hasn\u2019t been active in his role with NFL Network or ESPN since the leadup to the 2023 Super Bowl, however. He has been in hot water for allegedly verbally harassing<\/a> a female Marriott employee in the week before the Super Bowl. He was subsequently removed from the coverage team.<\/p>\n

Irvin now has a $100 million defamation lawsuit against Marriott and his harassment accuser whch he re-filed in Arizona in March. The initial lawsuit was filed in Collin County, Texas, but the February incident occurred in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

In the\u00a0motion filed<\/a>\u00a0by Marriott representatives, they laid out what the female employee told her superiors about the encounter with Irvin before the NFL Network analyst was removed from his room and, subsequently, Super Bowl week coverage.<\/p>\n

Irvin allegedly \u201cflagged down\u201d the woman, told her he found her attractive and shook her hand. The handshake was one of four physical touches the former wideout\u2019s lawyer\u00a0described in a press conference<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on Wednesday after he viewed the footage.<\/p>\n

\u201cIrvin also reached out and touched the Victim\u2019s arm during this conversation without her consent, causing her to step back, becoming visibly uncomfortable,\u201d Marriott attorney Nathan Chapman wrote in the motion, acquired by\u00a0DMN<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIrvin then asked the Victim whether she knew anything about having a \u2018big Black man inside of [her].\u2019 Taken aback by Irvin\u2019s comments, the Victim responded that his comments were inappropriate, and she did not wish to discuss it further.<\/p>\n

\u201cIrvin then attempted to grab the Victim\u2019s hand again and said he was \u2018sorry if he brought up bad memories\u2019 for her.\u2019 The Victim pulled her hand away and tried to back away from Irvin as he continued to move towards her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Irvin revealed the footage of the incident at a press conference. As the video has no audio, it doesn\u2019t confirm either the woman\u2019s account of what Irvin said to her or his side of the encounter. <\/p>\n
