The Birmingham Bolts (18u) and Mojo-Lewis (16u) won the Premier National Championships on Saturday. <\/p>\n
Florida signee Katelynn Oxley punched out 10 hitters in the 7-2 victory over Athletics Mercado to capture another PGF 18U Premier title. <\/p>\n
Oxley kept the Athletics offense at bay allowing minimal hard-hit contact. Throwing to both sides of the plate, spun the ball and mixed in a plus changeup all game long. Oxley is a high-energy pitcher with tons of swag in the circle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Bolts put up a crooked number in the third. Ava Hodo (2026) tripled to right field taking advantage of the right fielder playing shallow depth to score the first run of the ballgame. Back-to-back singles up the middle via Zaylen Tucker (2025) and Saviya Morgan (Tennessee signee) stretched the lead to 3-0.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bella Foran (FAU signee) and Katie King (2026) both finished the day with a pair of RBI. The Bolts\u2019 skipper Rocky Thompson expressed his immense gratitude for the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis championship is extra special for several of the players on this roster. They have come to this event and finished 3rd, two years in a row in 16s. And now, as soon-to-be freshman in college, I\u2019m so happy for them to be able to go out and know they are champions.\u201d Thompson continued. \u201cAs far as the program, the saying is that \u2018Everything starts from the top\u2019 So, with the 18s being the oldest team in the organization to be able to bring home a 2nd PGF Title in 18s it just makes all of the age groups hungry\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Athletics Mercado\u2019s starter Cambria Salmon (Texas signee) allowed four runs on seven hits in 3.0 innings of work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Mojo-Lewis defeated Lady Lightning Elite 8-5 to capture the PGF 16u Pre The Mojo-Lewis squad went undefeated through pool play and the bracket to become this year\u2019s 2024 PGF Champion. The talented group, who was also in the championship game of the television bracket at the Triple Crown Colorado Fireworks tournament has showcased all summer they had the toughness and resiliency to secure the final win of the season.<\/p>\n
The back-and-forth game started off hot for LLG when leadoff hitter, Katie Guilliam (2026) tripled to right field. A fielder\u2019s choice and walk loaded the bases with no outs before Mojo-Lewis lifted starter, Addison DeRoche (2027) for Bailee Shelton (2026). <\/p>\n
Shelton came in and retired the next three batters to end the early threat. After a quiet second inning, Mojo-Lewis got on the board first in the third inning on Avary Stockwell\u2019s (2026) sacrifice fly and Audrey Cathey\u2019s (2026) two-RBI single to take a 3-0 lead. LLG would answer in the bottom of the inning on two singles by Chloe Chappell (2026) and Annika Johansson (2027) and an RBI line out by Lauren Faulkner (2025). <\/p>\n
Mojo-Lewis threatened again in the fourth after a leadoff double by Jo Young (2026) and a
sacrifice bunt moved her over to third with one out. A pop-out and intentional walk to Milan Torres (2026) put runners on the corners with 2 outs before Halle Bailey (2026) lined out to third to end the inning.<\/p>\n
In the bottom of the fourth, Mojo-Lewis re-entered starter, Addison DeRoche (Maine Gatorade State Player of the Year). DeRoche showed why she is one of the top 2027 prospects in her class as she rebounded and quieted the LLG offense through the next 3 innings before LLG mounted a comeback threat in the seventh. <\/p>\n
Katie Guilliam (2026) led off the seventh inning again for LLG and reached on a line drive and defensive error. An ensuing single by Leah Kendall (2025) put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Two sacrifice flies by Mia Roland (2027) and Chloe Chappell (2026) scored two to narrow the Mojo-Lewis lead to just 3. A final line out ended the threat and the Mojo-Lewis sealed the victory.<\/p>\n
