Jim Schlossnagle has been at odds with the SEC Network<\/a> down in Hoover this week. While Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong> has managed to overcome the unpredictable juju<\/a> in the SEC Tournament, it has become a running joke that wonky things have happened<\/a> whenever the Aggie skipper has put on the headset during the games.<\/p>\n

Schlossnagle commented on his appearances on their broadcasts following A&M\u2019s 5-0 victory<\/a> over South Carolina<\/a><\/strong> on Thursday morning. He said that he jokingly blames the crews who call the games even though he also has a lot of love for all of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI blame most of that stuff on Tom Hart<\/a>, all things ESPN related,\u201d said Schlossnagle with a chuckle. \u201cI\u2019m kidding. He\u2019s a great friend of mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, that\u2019s a good time. It\u2019s part of the allure of being in this conference is the great relationship between the conference and the network,\u201d Schlossnagle said. \u201cYou get to know those people, whether it be \u2014 I\u2019ve known Dave Neal<\/a> for a long time. And everybody else, guys like (David) Dellucci<\/a> I coached against, Todd Walker<\/a>, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, with Texas A&M in the fourth round of the SEC Tournament today against<\/a> LSU<\/a><\/strong>, Schlossnagle doesn\u2019t want any more funny business. He has gotten a laugh, as we all have, out of the interactions but, in order to beat the Tigers, he says that the broadcast crew better be strategic about when they ask for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s fun. It\u2019s fun, the banter back and forth, and I am glad we \u2014 as soon as (Ethan) Petry swung the bat, I was like, if he hits a homer when I\u2019m standing here, I may quit,\u201d Schlossnagle said. \u201cI may quit coaching at the moment. And then Jace (LaViolette) made the catch<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see what happens tomorrow,\u201d said Schlossnagle. \u201c(Just) do not interview me when (Dylan) Crews and (Tommy) White are hitting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justin Lamkin, Jim Schlossnagle react to Texas A&M\u2019s one-hit shutout of South Carolina<\/h2>\n

Texas A&M\u00a0survived to see Friday at the\u00a0SEC Tournament\u00a0thanks to\u00a0a 5-0 shutout\u00a0over\u00a0South Carolina\u00a0this morning in Hoover. While a lot when the way of the Aggies, a big key to the victory was the pitching performance from freshman LHP Justin Lamkin.<\/p>\n

Following the win, Lamkin was interviewed on the\u00a0SEC Network\u00a0about his seven innings of solid work. He said he felt very good for his entire day in large part to a nice variety as well as trust in the growth he has gone through over the course of his year.<\/p>\n

\u201c(I) felt really good throughout the whole game. (I was) really mixing pitches and the three-pitch mix was really working well for me,\u201d Lamkin said. \u201cIt really helped me get deeper in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just great having great coaches like this A&M staff does. That\u2019s the first part of it,\u201d said Lamkin. \u201cJust getting stronger mentally. Knowing what pitch to throw and where you are at with the lineup really helps with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aggie head coach Jim Schlossnagle shared similar sentiments in his own interview after the win. He recognized that the Gamecocks weren\u2019t at full strength. Still, he said Lamkin did more than enough to get the job done this morning inside Hoover Met. Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought Lamkin was outstanding today,\u201d Schlossnagle said. \u201cI know South Carolina\u2019s down some players but he took advantage of that by just filling up the strike zone.\u201d<\/p>\n
