Let\u2019s count down the top 30 Boilermakers as we march to the start of\u00a0Ryan Walters<\/a><\/strong>\u2018 second season in West Lafayette.<\/p>\n

No. 21 Kam Brown, WR, Senior<\/h2>\n

There are new faces galore in the Purdue receivers room. And one of the key newcomers is UCLA transfer Kam Brown<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to Brown, Purdue also added two Georgia wideouts via the portal: De\u2019Nylon Morrissette<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and CJ Smith<\/a><\/strong>. And the unit has imported a JC transfer\u2013Leland Smith<\/a><\/strong>\u2013and four freshmen. Don\u2019t forget about Jahmal Edrine<\/a><\/strong>, a Florida Atlantic transfer who\u00a0is ready to shine after sitting out 2023 following an August knee injury.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s against that backdrop Brown will look to make the most of his final season. What\u2019s Purdue getting? Brown has decent speed to go with a veteran\u2019s savvy that is displayed in his route-running. He\u2019s a pro\u2019s pro. And as one of the most experienced wideouts on the roster, the sixth-year senior could be poised to start. <\/p>\n

He played in nine games in 2023, making 13 catches for 163 yards and a TD in what was his third season at UCLA. The Colleyville (Texas) Heritage High product spent his first two seasons at Texas A&M.\u00a0The 6-1 Brown\u2019s resume shows 61 receptions for 846 yards and six touchdowns in his career.<\/p>\n

Purdue is trying to replace its top three pass-catching wideouts who all entered the portal:\u00a0Deion Burks<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0TJ Sheffield<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Fun fact: Brown is the son of former NFL defensive back\u00a0Larry Brown<\/strong>, the MVP of Super Bowl 30 for the Cowboys.<\/p>\n
