June was full of official visits for Jared Smith<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

After visiting Ole Miss<\/a><\/strong> officially in April, he was at South Carolina<\/a><\/strong> in June. <\/p>\n

That trip was followed by a visit to Georgia<\/a><\/strong>, then on June 14, Smith visited Tennessee<\/a><\/strong>. He wrapped things up with visits to Florida State<\/a><\/strong> on June 18 and USC<\/a><\/strong> on June 21. <\/p>\n

Many recruits have announced their commitments in July, but the No. 42 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong> is taking this month to make his decision before announcing it in August. <\/p>\n

\u201cI plan on announcing my commitment on Aug. 3,\u201d Smith told On3. <\/p>\n

Smith will choose between Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, USC and Ole Miss.<\/p>\n

The favorite according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction<\/a><\/strong> Machine is South Carolina. He was back in Columbia last month, the Gamecocks impressed. <\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Carolina has always been high on my list and this visit solidified that. They always show me love when I\u2019m in Columbia. This trip, I was able to bring my family so they could get a feel for the staff, school, and the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandma isn\u2019t worried as much now that she met the people that I would be around. My family now sees what I see, that Columbia is a great city and the Gamecocks are pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sterling Lucas<\/a><\/strong> is Smith\u2019s lead recruiter. The two have a great relationship. <\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Lucas is my guy. He gives it to me straight. He let me know how he plans on using me and he let me know a few things I can start correcting now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ole Miss is surging in this race and the Rebels could be South Carolina\u2019s top competition heading into these final four visits. He had a great visit to Oxford earlier this spring<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n
