Money: Coleman Hawkins isn’t the only one getting money at Kansas State (bad joke). Assistant Brian Anderson got his money, too. New running back commit Monterrio Elston goes by the nickname “Money” and picked the Wildcats over Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia Tech and others.
2.) Ducks: Another team grabbing huge recruiting wins is Oregon. They swiped away one of the best cornerbacks in the country in Dorian Brew by defeating the favorite Ohio State for him. Dan Lanning and the Ducks then followed that up by upsetting Texas for five-star receiver Dakorien Moore. They make a run for the top class in the country.
3.) Hall of Fame: Congratulations is in store for former K-State assistant coach Sean Snyder and track star Erik Kynard as they will be inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame this year.
4.) Avery: The most popular figures in Las Vegas for Big 12 Media Days will likely be Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders of Colorado. Not far behind could be Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson. Though just a sophomore, he will represent the Wildcats in Sin City.
5.) Utes: Not only was defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley tabbed as the head coach in waiting for Utah, but the Utes were also listed No. 1 in the Big 12 preseason poll.

The people have spoken… allow us to present the 2024 #Big12FB Media Preseason Poll pic.twitter.com/9JQw1J21Fv

— Big 12 Conference (@Big12Conference) July 2, 2024

Losers

1.) Trev Alberts: We all know that Jim Schlossnagle exited Texas A&M in about the worst way possible, but now we’re also learning that new athletic director Trev Alberts was not all that thrilled about keeping the head baseball coach that nearly won the College World Series in College Station. Maybe there’s something to Nebraska not crying about losing him.
2.) Texas: Imagine not being able to keep an in-state five-star prospect at home and losing him to Oregon. K-State > Texas. Chris Klieman > Steve Sarkisian.
3.) Receivers: 0 for 3? It’s looking that way for Kansas State at wideout after losing Gio Richardson to Arizona and Jalen Cooper to SMU. Isaiah Mizell is still on the board, but Georgia Tech is the favorite. Fortunately the Wildcats were able to land Adonis Moise.
4.) Razorbacks: Sam Pittman and Arkansas struck out on Saturday in Little Rock. Four-star safety Omarion Robinson picked Oklahoma over the Razorbacks and they lost Elston to K-State.
5.) Sleep: A job was not something I had to worry about the last time I wanted to play an NCAA Football video game. Now I have to in a few weeks when EA Sports releases the highly-anticipated video game. I’ll sacrifice sleep instead while leading Kansas State to a national title.

The post Winners and Losers: Kansas State snags another home run hitter appeared first on On3.

KSO covers the biggest winners and losers in the world of Kansas State and college athletics….

[1

post-59811","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
