Penn State<\/a><\/strong> released a statement following the death of former cornerback AJ Lytton<\/a><\/strong>. He was one of three people killed in a Maryland car crash<\/a><\/strong> that also involved fourth-round NFL Draft<\/a><\/strong> pick Khyree Jackson<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lytton played at Penn State in 2021 after starting his career at Florida State<\/a><\/strong>. He appeared in 11 games with the Nittany Lions, totaling one solo tackle that year.<\/p>\n

Lytton played two years at Florida State from 2018-19, where he totaled 28 tackles and an interception. He didn\u2019t play in 2020 after leaving the Seminoles, but eventually made his way to State College to play for Penn State.<\/p>\n

AJ Lytton was among three people killed in the Saturday morning crash, along with Khyree Jackson and Isaiah Hazel<\/strong>. They all attended Dr. Henry Wise (Md.)<\/strong> High. Maryland Police\u00a0released details<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of the accident Saturday afternoon, confirming it took place just after 3 a.m. ET. Police also said investigators believe alcohol \u201cmay have been a contributing circumstance in the crash.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hazel and Jackson were pronounced deceased on the scene. Lytton was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by the attending medical professionals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the silver Infiniti, later identified as Cori Clingman, was traveling northbound on Route 4\/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George\u2019s County,\u201d the report said. \u201cInvestigators believe Clingman attempted to change lanes while driving at a high rate of speed when she struck the Dodge Charger and then struck the Chevrolet Impala. The Charger subsequently traveled off of the right side of the roadway and struck multiple tree stumps where the vehicle came to rest.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Minnesota Vikings drafted Jackson in the fourth round of this year\u2019s NFL Draft, and he was gearing up for his rookie season with the team. They also\u00a0confirmed his death<\/a><\/strong>, posting a tribute on social media Saturday morning. Head coach\u00a0Kevin O\u2019Connell<\/strong>, general manager\u00a0Kewsi Adofo-Mensah<\/strong>\u00a0and owners\u00a0Mark and Zygi Wilf<\/strong>\u00a0all released statements, as well.<\/p>\n
