Sam Purcell has one of the top players in the country on campus this weekend for an official visit, according to a source. <\/p>\n
Mississippi State is hosting one of Georgia\u2019s best players in the class of 2025 as the coach has Hebron Christian Academy guard Aubrey Beckham is in Starkville. Beckham is considered the nation\u2019s No. 30 player overall by ESPNW and is ranked as the No. 2 player in Georgia and the No. 11 guard. <\/p>\n
Beckham is a highly recruited player that has already taken official visits to Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Indiana and is expected to also visit Florida State. The Bulldogs of State have entered the mix thanks, in large part, to a connection already on campus. <\/p>\n
Beckham\u2019s older sister, Arianna, is a junior volleyball player for head coach Julie Darty Denis and the Bulldog volleyball team. Arianna recently transferred from Florida Atlantic after leading the Owls in kills and finishing second in blocks. <\/p>\n
As for Aubrey, it\u2019s already been an accomplished two-year period. As a sophomore and junior, Beckham led Hebron Christian to a state championship. She also earned Region 8-AAA Player of the Year honors in each of the last two years. She has enjoyed a strong summer on the circuit as she\u2019s moved up the rankings across several different networks and has seen her recruiting stock rise as offers continue to roll in for her. <\/p>\n
Purcell and his staff have been busy on the recruiting trail this summer. The staff went to see five-star Texas WING Ayla McDowell and Georgia\u2019s Jocelyn Faison on the hoops circuit in June. Four-star guard Tianna Chambers recently came to town for an official visit and would leave having State in her final two with Alabama. <\/p>\n
