Michigan has made Top 100 Woodberry Forest (Va.) Scchool running back Savion Hiter<\/a><\/strong> one of its top overall priorities for next cycle.<\/p>\n

Hiter made his first-ever visit to Michigan in the spring and is now set to return to Ann Arbor for the annual BBQ at The Big House later this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m planning to get back there for the BBQ,\u201d Hiter said. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to be being back out there. I just want to get around the coaches and everything again. I feel like I saw a lot the first time I was there. It was a great visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford recruited Hiter as an underclassman during his time at Ohio State and has a strong relationship with him and his family.<\/p>\n

Alford has continued to build a bond with Hiter now that he\u2019s sporting the Maize and Blue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a great relationship,\u201d Hiter said. \u201cI\u2019ve known him since he was at Ohio State, and our bond has kept getting stronger now that he is at Michigan. I like how he is straightforward and doesn\u2019t sugarcoat anything. He\u2019s always been very honest with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hiter was impressed with the way Michigan ran the ball last season and sees himself as a great fit in the offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really liked how Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards were a dynamic duo,\u201d Hiter said. \u201cIt was great seeing them have a lot of success when they won the national championship. I like that Michigan is a run-first team. I think the offense fits me and what can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

So where does Michigan stand early on in his recruitment?<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are very high on my list right now,\u201d Hiter said. \u201cThey\u2019ve always been a great program. They are a run-first football team. I like how everything there is organized and how they have a great culture. I like all the players that they are putting out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hiter has no set decision timeline and plans to take a measured approach to the recruiting process.<\/p>\n

Along with Michigan, Hiter holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and others.<\/p>\n

At 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, Hiter is ranked as the No. 2 running back and No. 31 overall recruit in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Virginia for next cycle.<\/p>\n
