Kentucky is keeping the state\u2019s top prospect home as Frankfort (Ky.) Western Hills<\/a><\/strong> On300 defensive lineman Javeon Campbell<\/a><\/strong> announced his pledge to the Wildcats on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Campbell committed to the home-state program over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Ohio State and Georgia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery school has great facilities, great trainers, great everything,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cWhat made UK stand out is just the feeling all the staff gives off when I\u2019m there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The On3 Industry tabs Campbell as the nation\u2019s No. 14 defensive lineman and No. 167 prospect overall. He becomes commit No. 15<\/a> for head coach Mark Stoops and his staff, adding to a class that ranked No. 25 nationally prior to his decision.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cBeing able to stay down there, being there every day and making connections with teammates and even more with the coaches and playing there,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cThat\u2019s just exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe place, location, everything. Close to home. That\u2019s what sold it to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Campbell had 14.5 sacks as a junior and was recruited to Lexington by Vince Marrow and Brad White. He loves his potential playing under this staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re putting the time in,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cThey\u2019re grinding. You can tell they\u2019re practicing with a purpose. I feel that\u2019s what\u2019s made them really successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Campbell says Kentucky plans to use him across the line of scrimmage \u201cand let me do my thing.\u201d He visited campus close to 10 times.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time me going down there, I could feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a feeling that never went away and now Campbell is in the fold for Kentucky.<\/p>\n
