{"id":58623,"date":"2024-06-30T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-30T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/?p=58623"},"modified":"2024-06-30T11:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-06-30T16:00:00","slug":"updating-tennessee-footballs-odds-to-make-the-12-team-college-football-playoff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/updating-tennessee-footballs-odds-to-make-the-12-team-college-football-playoff\/","title":{"rendered":"Updating Tennessee Football\u2019s odds to make the 12-team College Football Playoff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/tennessee-volunteers\/category\/football\/news\/\">Tennessee Football<\/a> not only has the 12th best odds to make the new 12-team College Football Playoff, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.betonline.ag\/sportsbook\/futures-and-props\/ncaaf-futures\/12-team-playoff\">according to BetOnline<\/a>, but the Vols are tied with three other teams for the 12th and final spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee, Missouri, Clemson and Miami are all listed at +200 to make the playoff according to <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.betonline.ag\/sportsbook\/futures-and-props\/ncaaf-futures\/12-team-playoff\">BetOnline<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State has the best odds at -650, ahead of Georgia (-500), Oregon (-275), Texas (-225), Notre Dame (-210), Penn State (-140), Ole Miss (-130) and Michigan (-110).<\/p>\n<p>Alabama is +120, LSU is +140 and Florida State is +150.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vols ranked No. 9 overall in ESPN\u2019s Football Power Index<\/h2>\n<p>Tennessee came in at No. 9 overall in ESPN\u2019s first FPI update for the 2024 season, with a projected record of 8.6-3.5. The Vols have a 95.4% chance to win six games or more and a 36.9% chance to make the 12-team College Football Playoff.<\/p>\n<p>The FPI gives Tennessee a 5.5% chance to win the SEC, a 6.0% chance to make the national championship game and a 2.7% chance to win the national title.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On3\u2019s Andy Staples earlier this month projected the Vols to be a No. 11 seed in the College Football, predicting a matchup between Tennessee and No. 6 Oregon in Eugene in the opening round in December.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kickoff times, kickoff windows for Tennessee this season\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Kickoff times and TV information for four Tennessee games this season have been announced, while kickoff windows are set for the other eight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The season-opener against Chattanooga on August 31 will be a 12:45 p.m. Eastern Time start (TV: SEC Network), the N.C. State game on September 7 in Charlotte is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC), Kent State on September 14 will kick at 7:45 p.m. ET (SEC Network) and the UTEP game on November 23 will be a 1 p.m. ET start (SEC Network+).<\/p>\n<p>The SEC and ESPN last week announced kickoff windows \u2014 early, afternoon, night or flex \u2014 across the league.<\/p>\n<p>Early games will start between Noon and 1 p.m. Afternoon games are between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. and night games will be between 6 and 8 p.m. Flex games could fall between 3:30-4:30 or 6-8.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee\u2019s flex games include Oklahoma (September 21), Arkansas (September 28), Florida (October 5) and Alabama (October 12).
