{"id":5663,"date":"2023-05-21T18:11:12","date_gmt":"2023-05-21T23:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/?p=5663"},"modified":"2023-05-21T18:11:12","modified_gmt":"2023-05-21T23:11:12","slug":"2026-iol-george-haseotes-receives-kentucky-offer-its-a-big-step-in-my-recruiting-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/2026-iol-george-haseotes-receives-kentucky-offer-its-a-big-step-in-my-recruiting-process\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 IOL George Haseotes Receives Kentucky Offer: \u2018It\u2019s a Big Step in My Recruiting Process\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/george-haseotes-174355\/\">George Haseotes<\/a><\/strong>, a class of 2026 offensive lineman out of Florida, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GHaseotes\/status\/1660086812075782148\">received an offer from Kentucky on Saturday<\/a>, as UK looks to make a push with the underclassman.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-2, 270-pound interior offensive lineman from Community School of Naples (Naples, FL) told KSR+ that he visited Eastern Kentucky last month and was able to see the Lexington area on that trip. Now, he holds an offer from the Wildcats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was super hyped up because it\u2019s my first SEC offer,\u201d Haseotes said. \u201cIt\u2019s a big step in my recruiting process.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow is in contact with Haseotes\u2019 coach as he looks to build relationships with coaches early in the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hit the ground running early and start off strong with a bunch of interests,\u201d Haseotes said. \u201cOnce I get into my junior year where I can go on official visits and they can contact me, they\u2019ll have a solid platform to go off of.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last season, as an eighth grader, Haseotes started for the IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL) varsity team where he met Edward McKee. McKee spent the 2022 season at Kentucky before transferring to Coastal Carolina this offseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really close with [McKee] and he said he liked the program a lot,\u201d Haseotes said. \u201cHe told me about the coaches and how he played with guys like Will Levis. They set a really good example for him. The leadership and the bond within the program is really strong. That piqued my interest.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, Haseotes hopes to visit in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cThat\u2019s definitely a possibility,\u201d he said. \u201cIf they were to invite me up there, I would 100% go. Either way, I\u2019m looking forward to it, whether it\u2019s on my own time, they invite me to a game, or whatever the case is.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>His Wider Recruitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>George Haseotes is still very early in the recruiting process, but already holds offers from several top programs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a dream come true,\u201d Haseotes said of the recruiting process. \u201cEver since I was a little kid, I\u2019ve dreamed about playing Division 1. There aren\u2019t many freshmen in the country at this level. It\u2019s a dream come true and it\u2019s a blessing to see my hard work paying off.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Haseotes currently holds offers from Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, New Mexico State, Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan State, and U Penn. He has already taken visits to Louisvie, Eastern Kentucky, and South Florida.<\/p>\n<p>This summer, Haseotes intends to check out several schools during their camps, including Mercer (June 1), Florida State (June 7), Tennessee (June 14), and Notre Dame (June 15).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m [paying attention to] the coaches,\u201d Haseotes said. \u201cI was on the phone with the offensive line coach from Michigan State and he was really welcoming and told me the specifics about my game that he really liked. That was my first experience with a coach that really went into the intricacies of my game and told me specifically what he likes and what I need to improve on. That\u2019s really important to me \u2013 coaches being honest with you and telling you what you need to improve on as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>George Haseotes\u2019 Game<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>George Haseotes plays on both the offensive and defensive line at the high school level, which he said has been a great benefit to his game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying both ways is really important to me because it keeps me conditioned,\u201d he said. \u201cOnce I get to a point where I\u2019m only playing one way, I\u2019ll be really ready for it and I\u2019ll be super energetic when I\u2019m on the field.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Heading into his sophomore year, Haseotes is looking to hit the weight room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy footwork is really crisp,\u201d he said. \u201cIt won\u2019t hurt to work on my strength in the weight room and be able to anchor down on those bigger defensive linemen because that could be a problem down the road.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With an offer from Kentucky in hand, Haseotes has a message for all the UK fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want them to know that nothing will stop me from achieving my dreams,\u201d he said. \u201cI sincerely hope that the University of Kentucky keeps me within the program and keeps me activated. They\u2019re definitely a huge possibility for me.
