Texas will host a 2025 defensive back prospect committed to an in-state Power Conference program later this month, as Inside Texas Members learned on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
2025 Mansfield (Texas) Timberview DB Nathan Tilmon<\/a><\/strong> will take a midweek official visit to see the Texas Longhorns on June 18-20, he told Inside Texas yesterday. Tilmon, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound three-star prospect, committed to SMU in February. Inside Texas<\/p>\n He picked up an offer from the Longhorns on June 1 and told IT what Texas sees in him.<\/p>\n \u201cThey love my physicality and ability to be a safety and they can bring out my full potential,\u201d Tilmon said.<\/a><\/p>\n The offer meant a lot for the DFW standout.<\/p>\n \u201cIt means that the hard work has paid off and getting a big offer like them is very big,\u201d Tilmon said. \u201cThat just gave me even more drive to work harder.\u201d<\/p>\n Tilmon took his official visit to SMU in May. He took a trip to Utah last week to see the Utes. <\/p>\n He has double-digit offers including Arizona State, Arkansas, Houston, Baylor, Kansas State, Michigan State, TCU, and Texas Tech.<\/p>\n Last year for the Wolves, Tilmon tallied 26 tackles and a fumble recovery. On the track during the 2024 season, he posted personal records of 10.71 in the 100m and 22.49 in the 200m (albeit with a +2.7 m\/s wind). He was part of a state finalist 4\u00d7100 team that posted a 41.21 in the UIL 5A State Championships. As a sophomore, he logged a personal best time of 43.09 in the 300m hurdles <\/p>\n Tilmon is ranked as the No. 853 overall prospect, the No. 62 safety, and the No. 135 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.<\/p>\n On3 ranks him as the No. 27 safety and the No. 76 player in Texas.<\/p>\n \u201cNathan Tilmon is a safety prospect who has excellent athletic ability that can be a physical cover guy from the slot,\u201d Bellaire said. \u201cTilmon\u2019s top-end speed and physicality is what a lot of teams want from their nickel prospects. He\u2019s someone that has run 10.91 in the 100m, sub-24.00 in the 200m, sub-16.00 in the 100m high hurdles as well as 43.09 in the 300m intermediate hurdles.
