Andrew Jackson three-star offensive tackle <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/deryc-plazz-150697\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deryc Plazz<\/a><\/strong> announced his <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DerycPlazz\/status\/1659982342583189507?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top five schools<\/a> on Saturday. They are <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/duke-blue-devils\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Duke<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/florida-state-seminoles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida State<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/miami-hurricanes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miami<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/nc-state-wolfpack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NC State<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/penn-state-nittany-lions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Penn State<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Plazz is the No. 989 overall prospect and No. 73 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/rankings\/industry-player\/football\/2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>On3 Industry Ranking<\/strong><\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.\u00a0He is also the No. 132 player in Florida. <\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-6, 265-pound recruit has already locked in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/nc-state-wolfpack\/news\/deryc-plazz-top-5-nc-state-interest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">four official visits<\/a> to his finalists. He will be at Penn State on June 2-4, Duke on June 9-11, Miami on June 16-18 and NC State on June 23-25. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want a program that develops the guys that are three or four-stars, not just a school that brings in the best offensive line class every year,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/penn-state-nittany-lions\/news\/florida-ot-plans-summer-schedule-penn-state-will-get-an-ov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plazz told Sean Fitz of BlueWhiteIllustrated<\/a> on May 13. \u201cI want a school that actually takes time to develop guys across the field.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it be the ACC, SEC, etc., I want a school that plays in a dominant athletic conference and also has a good education because football doesn\u2019t last forever,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2>Plazz discusses his interest in NC State <\/h2>\n<p>According to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/deryc-plazz-150697\/recruiting\/165063\/rpm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a><\/strong>, the Wolfpack are leading for Plazz\u2019s commitment at 31.7%. He visited North Carolina State last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRaleigh is definitely a beautiful place where I\u2019m comfortable and feel safe,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/nc-state-wolfpack\/news\/deryc-plazz-nc-state-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plazz told Ethan McDowell of The Wolfpacker<\/a> on April 10. \u201cOn the football side, I\u2019ve built great relationships with many staff members and definitely understand I\u2019m a priority.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means everything because there\u2019s schools that offer five-to-10 guys and there\u2019s schools that offer 50,\u201d he added. \u201cThe schools that offer five-to-10, it\u2019s a blessing, especially at a school like NC State who has consistently put linemen on both sides of the ball into the NFL. It means a lot being at the top of their board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three-star has visited four of his finalists this spring. He was at Duke on April 8, NC State on April 6, Florida State on April 1 and Miami on March 24. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to ask a lot about the weight room, the development of the players, the history of the program because I know they\u2019re building something right now,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/nc-state-wolfpack\/news\/deryc-plazz-nc-state-garett-tujague\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plazz told McDowell<\/a> on Jan. 31. \u201cBut history is still rich and history will always repeat itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m interested in the history of the programs, the fans, which I hear are great, just the overall atmosphere around the coaches, the staff, recruiting assistants, anybody, players,\u201d he added. \u201cI\u2019m just, overall, trying to get a good feel of positive things, positive vibes, room for opportunity and room for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/\/news\/deryc-plazz-announces-top-five-schools-duke-florida-state-miami-nc-state-penn-state-3-star-ot\/\">3-star OT Deryc Plazz announces top five schools<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.on3.com\/\">On3<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jacksonville (Fla.)
