Despite the fact that Miami Hurricane commit Vincent Shavers<\/a><\/strong> has only been at Miami Central for a little less than two months, Rockets head coach Jube Joseph<\/a> has seen enough to realize that the three-star prospect is a special talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he has tremendous instincts and is just a student of the game,\u201d Joseph told CaneSport<\/a>. \u201cHis work ethic is second to none when it comes to developing himself, his skills, and pushing his teammates to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shavers, who committed to Miami Friday night and is the Hurricanes\u2019 first linebacker commit in the 2024 class<\/a>, transferred to Miami Central from Monsignor Pace prior to the spring and has adjusted well to the Rockets\u2019 culture on and off the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s just a natural fit,\u201d Joseph said. \u201cWhen kids come to Miami Central, you want to make sure they can accept the culture, and he has immersed himself in our culture and is becoming a true Rocket. Not only being a vital key to the defense but a vital key to the team as he\u2019s now stepped up as a leader within the locker room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since he made the move to 95th Street, multiple Miami staff members have swung by Miami Central to evaluate the 6-foot, 205-pound linebacker and have all loved what they saw.<\/p>\n

According to Joseph, he has improved his game in a variety of ways since the start of the spring and feels he will have a breakout year after a junior season<\/a> in which he had 57 tackles, 17 TFLS, and 8 sacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne thing about it is that you can go off what people say, but you\u2019ve got to go off what you see,\u201d Joseph said. \u201cThey see a change in his game and how he\u2019s slated for a big-time season coming up. They like his tenacity, instincts, and tackling. He also looks a lot leaner, just from the fact that he\u2019s playing multiple positions in our defense. That just shows that he has a tremendous capacity and a high football IQ.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked where he thinks Shavers will project at the next level at Miami, Joseph could not pinpoint a position but believes his versatility and work ethic will take him far in his football journey.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sky is the limit for whatever scheme he\u2019s in,\u201d Joseph said. \u201cI can see him at the WILL, SAM or anywhere they need him. Whatever position allows him to show his true attributes, which are being fast, physical, and instinctual, he\u2019ll dominate.\u201d<\/p>\n
