Bennett product notched a Michigan offer in April and wasted no time getting to Ann Arbor for his first-ever visit.

“It was great,” Clemons said. “I got a chance to talk to Coach Clink (Steve Clinkscale). I saw Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. It was a great time out there. I love the campus and the facilities. I really like the way they run the program.”

Clemson, who was an FBU All-American and helped lead Bennett to a state title as a freshman, is listed as an athlete. However, Michigan and most other programs are recruiting him as a defensive back.

During his visit, Clemons had the opportunity to meet with Michigan co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach Steve Clinkscale.

“I loved Coach Clink, Clemons said. “He was really old school. He doesn’t play any games. He’s real. I love him. He didn’t talk about the scheme too much, but from what I saw, I loved it.”

Clemons also spent some time with star Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, who has become a valuable tool for the Wolverines on the recruiting trail.

“I got to meet Will Johnson, and that was amazing,” Clemons said. “He’s a cool, quiet guy. He still had a great personality. It was great just being able to meet him and talk to him about Michigan and everything.”

So where does Michigan stand coming out of the visit?

“My interest is super high,” Clemons said. “They are probably at the top right now. Michigan is known for putting out defensive backs like Charles Woodson. It’s a great program, and they can help me develop as a player and man.”

Clemons hopes to get back to Michigan this fall for another unofficial visit. This time around, Clemons wants to see a game in The Big House.

Along with Michigan, Clemons holds early offers from Akron, Buffalo, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse and West Virginia.

At 5-foot-9, 155 pounds, Clemson is not yet ranked.

Father’s Take

“We like the history of the school,” said Clemons’ father, Allen. “They are very strict on academics. Football follows everything else. They care about life after football. The opportunity to represent that maize and blue means a lot. It meant a lot to me growing up. Everything about Michigan is amazing — from the academics to the football program.”

The post Rising 2026 ATH Demari Clemons recaps first visit to Michigan appeared first on On3.

Michigan hosted several talented underclassmen this spring, including rising 2026 athlete Demari Clemons.
