Oregon hosted its first official visit weekend of the summer and already landed a big commitment in 2025 Tampa (Fla.) Sumner offensive tackle Ziyare Addison<\/a>. San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan ATH Chris Lawson<\/a><\/strong> another big recruit on campus for his official visit and he spoke with ScoopDuck about the trip.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally the biggest thing that stood out to me was just being around the players,\u201d Lawson said. \u201cSeeing how they they really are\u2014asking them questions about the coaches and all that was my biggest takeaway. Because I\u2019ve been there a couple of times, so I\u2019m pretty comfortable up there.\u201d<\/p>\n

It sounds like Oregon showed Lawson plenty of attention during his few days in Eugene, as he highlighted multiple coaches when asked who he spent most of his time with.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally all of \u2019em. We were all pretty much together the whole weekend. I was with Coach (Dan) Lanning, Coach (Junior) Adams, Coach (Chris) Hampton, Coach Tosh (Lupoi), Coach (Rashad) Wadood, Coach (Will) Stein. Offensive and defensive coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawson\u2019s versatility has been a big theme in his recruitment and there were conversations with the staff, but the coaches don\u2019t appear to be favoring a particular side of the ball.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah if I were to go there they would be signing me as an athlete,\u201d he said.\u201d Really wherever I fit in best at.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was hosted by fellow Bay Area native Sione Laulea III<\/a><\/strong> and also spent time with quarterback Dante Moore<\/a><\/strong> over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know one of their DB\u2019s Sione, I was with him he was my player host. I\u2019ve been knowing him for a little while. We go to the same trainer out here in the Bay. I was with him and Dante (Moore) for most of the time when I was out with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two Ducks spoke about their player experience in Eugene, with Moore speaking to the genuine nature of those inside the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were just telling me how all the people, everybody\u2019s pretty cool. I asked Dante what was the reason he came over to Oregon from UCLA. He just said the people, all the people are real good, real genuine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawson has been a frequent visitor at Oregon and the consistency of their approach could end up being a plus ahead of his June 21 commitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like every time I go there, I get the same vibe every time, it\u2019s not really a change up,\u201d he said. \u201cHonestly it\u2019s always good vibes up there. It was pretty regular. This is probably my fourth or fifth time up there.\u201d<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t seem like there\u2019s much separation among his three finalists coming out of this weekend\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty much they\u2019re really at the top right now,\u201d he said of where Oregon stands. \u201cThem and UW are really neck and neck right now. Because I haven\u2019t been to my Cal official. So right now those are really neck and neck for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawson Talks Washington Interest, Official Visit<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt was really good. I went up there last week. I got to sit down with the players, spend a lot of time with them, see how they run things up there. I really liked it up there. They have a lot of NFL experience in the building, so that was really a big thing that stood out to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Huskies are also impressed by his versatility, although they may see him more on offense than defense.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty much the athlete deal. But Coach (Jedd) Fisch he said if I want to come in, he thinks I should start at receiver and then if I want to I could still switch to DB once I get comfortable. I feel like they\u2019re pretty open with whatever I\u2019m comfortable with, what I can handle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hometown Golden Bears Get Final Visit<\/h2>\n

\u201cI got a pretty good connection with Coach (Burl) Toler up there. I really like the staff. I went up there on an unofficial, everybody\u2019s cool up there. My top three, I really broke it down to who I really had the best relationships with. Really I got good relationships with all my tops. \u2018Cause they\u2019ve been recruiting me since my freshman year. Comfortable with all these schools.\u201d<\/p>\n

The San Francisco standout wants to stick to his June 21 commitment date and highlighted what needs to happen before then for him to be comfortable making a decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust praying on it. Really where I see myself best fit. \u2018Cause honestly the people in all the buildings are really good, so it\u2019s really just up to where I want to be at, where I feel most comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n
