Keelon Russell<\/a><\/strong>, Top 100 quarterback from Duncanville High School in Texas, took an official visit to Alabama this weekend. This was Russell\u2019s third official after traveling to Ole Miss and SMU. Others are also set to host the No. 8 QB this month before a final decision. Alabama, however, has put itself in prime position after the first trip to Tuscaloosa. <\/p>\n

Russell, who has been an SMU commitment since September has seen his stock soar in the last several months, and it created many opportunities including one from the Crimson Tide. He was offered by Alabama on 4\/24, the day after offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan<\/a><\/strong> visited Russell\u2019s school for an in-person evaluation. <\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3.5, 185-pound gunslinger passed for 3, 483 yards with 38 touchdowns and only three interceptions during the 2023 season. He also added 361 yards rushing with six additional scores. <\/p>\n

Russell spoke highly about the Crimson Tide prior to the weekend. He has enjoyed the attention from Coach Sheridan and Coach DeBoer as one of Alabama\u2019s top overall targets. <\/p>\n

\u201cGetting down to Bama is going to be one of the big things,\u201d Russell told On3 Sports in Nashville.<\/a> \u201cIt\u2019s one of the bigger opportunities for me. It\u2019s going to be really important, and I can\u2019t wait to see what\u2019s down there. Can\u2019t wait to see the coaches and build a relationship with all the student-athletes and get to learn stuff and meet Coach DeBoer in person.\u201d<\/p>\n
