Penn State tweets of the day<\/h2>\n

We start with On3 national college football columnist Jesse Simonton\u2019s top 25 entering the summer. Penn State checks in at No. 12. Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, and Oregon round out the top five. Michigan at No. 7 is the only other Big Ten team ahead of the Nittany Lions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Nittany Lions spent the spring breaking in new coordinators on offense (Kansas\u2019\u00a0Andy Kotelnicki<\/a>) and defense (former Indiana head coach Tom Allen),\u201d Simonton writes.\u00a0James Franklin\u2019s\u00a0<\/a>team should boast one of the saltier defenses in the country again this fall, and the hope is\u00a0Drew Allar<\/a>\u00a0will make a leap<\/a>\u00a0playing in Kotelnicki\u2019s system<\/a>\u00a0and throwing to the likes of Ohio State transfer\u00a0Julian Fleming<\/a>. Penn State did not add a single player in the second window, but they did see top returning wideout\u00a0KeAndre Lambert-Smith<\/a>\u00a0(Auburn) and promising safety\u00a0King Mack\u00a0<\/a>(Alabama) transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somewhere between No. 8 and No. 12 is where the Nittany Lions have been in most of these media member polls. Finishing at No. 12 would have the Lions in the running for a berth in the initial 12-team College Football Playoff. <\/p>\n
