Eastman (Ga.) Dodge County four-star athlete Darrell \u201cDuke\u201d Johnson<\/a><\/strong> came off the board on March 20, committing to Kalen DeBoer<\/a><\/strong> and Alabama<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Johnson remains solid in that pledge and has set his official visit date with the Crimson Tide for the weekend of June 7. He\u2019ll take a couple of other visits prior to that weekend, however. He tells On3 he\u2019s planning to visit Tennessee<\/a><\/strong> this weekend and has also locked in official visits with UCF<\/a><\/strong> (May 31) and Auburn<\/a><\/strong> (June 14).<\/p>\n

Teams have continued to recruit the 6-foot-1, 200-pound playmaker. He was back at Auburn at the end of March and also recently visited Florida State. Alabama hasn\u2019t taken the foot off the gas either, as defensive coordinator Kane Wommack<\/a><\/strong> and defensive backs coach Colin Hitschler visited Johnson at his school earlier this month. He was back in Tuscaloosa in April, too.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Johnson will make his way to Rocky Top for the Vols\u2019 big 865 Live event that is bringing in a heap of elite prospects. An official visit with Tennessee later on is not off the table for Johnson.<\/p>\n

He is the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the 2025 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He\u2019s also the No. 8 player in Georgia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like a dream that\u2019s come true,\u201d Johnson told On3 upon his commitment to the Tide<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cWhere I\u2019m from, people don\u2019t go to Bama.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
