2025 Houston (Tex.) Cy Falls linebacker Kaleb Burns<\/a><\/strong> wrapped up his SMU<\/a> official visit on Sunday with the Mustangs setting the bar high in his recruitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s big, it\u2019s been probably one of the best visits that I\u2019ve been on,\u201d Burns told On3. \u201cGreat weekend having me and my family up here.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the large group of prospects on campus along with all the folks in Dallas Burns met, it really added to the atmosphere. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was definitely way more fun, got us (the recruits) a lot closer,\u201d Burns said. \u201cGetting to know all the coaches, even some of the players. It\u2019s been all good. I train with some of the players (Alex Kilgore) as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

SMU co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Maurice Crum is pushing for a commitment. Burns told On3\u2019s Steve Wiltfong on Sunday<\/a> that the Mustangs are leading the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely wants me to commit, but having that connection and relationship, feel like I can do great things, feel like we can do great things together,\u201d he said. \u201cThey want me to sign that rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s taken a TCU official visit already while programs like Baylor and Houston are set to get official visits this summer. Then, it\u2019ll be time to make a decision for the 6-1, 210-pound linebacker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a couple more OVs, I\u2019m ready to make my decision after my official visits probably that first weekend after my visits.\u201d<\/p>\n

On3 ranks him as the No. 34 linebacker in the country and No. 72 prospect in the state of Texas. The Mustangs lead the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a> for Burns.<\/p>\n

Burns had 73 tackles as a junior with 18.5 stops for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
