Anxiety: Anxiety about the Bat Cats is a certainty. Kansas State might sneak into the NCAA Tournament anyways without a win at the Big 12 Tournament in Arlington, but they’re inviting some potential dangers if they come up empty.
2. Settlement: The Big 12 unanimously voted to approve a settlement in the House vs NCAA case that would equal about $2.8 billion total for the plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit. It could also include a revenue-sharing model where K-State could essentially pay its athletes up to a combined $22 million per year.
3. Two spots: Two spots remain to be filled for Kansas State after landing Achor Achor and Mobi Ikegwuruka. Both committed late last week, and the Wildcats are now pursuing targets such as Kentucky transfer Ugonna Onyenso and Georgia Tech transfer Miles Kelly.

With the loss, @KStateBSB is down three more spots in the RPI to 44. Bat Cats really need to avoid going 0-2 in Arlington. That would be very problematic. https://t.co/SMJtqCO6x6

— Kendall Rogers (@KendallRogers) May 21, 2024

TWO QUESTIONS

1. Top 10: Is K-State worthy of top 10 consideration in preseason polls? Andy Staples of On3 seems to think so, ranking the Wildcats at No. 10 in the College Football Top 25 after spring ball and the unfolding of the spring transfer portal cycle. Some of that is Avery Johnson, and I’m sure some of it is the addition of Colorado transfer Dylan Edwards. Either way, there will be no shortage of respect for Kansas State in year one of the newly-composed iteration of the Big 12.
2. Freshmen receivers: A true freshman receiver played early for K-State last season. When they were looking for more production from the wideouts, they looked to Jayce Brown. He’s now poised to be one of the best players on offense for the Wildcats this season. Is there someone that can do that this year? The two that were signed were Jacques Spradley-Demps and Trae Davis. All eyes should be on Spradley-Demps if it is to happen. He did impress during his first Spring in Manhattan.

NEW: Post-Spring/Portal College Football Top 25 via @Andy_Staples

Do you agree? https://t.co/dXsKMAy0YX pic.twitter.com/ynPDA7LeEt

— On3 (@On3sports) May 21, 2024

ONE K-STATE PREDICTION

1. High school basketball recruiting: I’m not going to call high school recruiting a now non-existent venture for Kansas State, but they’ll likely only mess around with who they consider the best of the best. They’ve signed just four the last two cycles and only one last year in David Castillo. 2025 could be something similar. A scenario exists where they land Nigel Walls and call it good.

The post 3-2-1: Kansas State accruing more and more respect appeared first on On3.

It is time for the Kansas State edition of the 3-2-1 feature.
