Auburn is not considered the public leader for any of the three at this time. There is a chance that could change when the weekend concludes, but for now, Auburn has some ground to make up with all three. Here is where we think Auburn stands for each of the three priority targets going into the big weekend.

RB – Ousmane Kromah, Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Georgia could be surging for Kromah at this time. This recruitment is much like many of the recruitments that we perceive Auburn to be the leader: it feels like Georgia is at the top, then who is number two? We don’t expect Auburn to overtake Georgia with the weekend visit, but the Tigers very well could surge to number two. Auburn is extremely high on Kromah and is expected to make a strong push for him on his official visit.

Going into the visit, Auburn is working to get more heavily into the mix. Based on Kromah’s March visit to Auburn, that very well could happen. Kromah’s interest seemed to rise after that visit.

OT – Andrew Babalola, Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest

Babalola has been to Auburn only one time. After that visit, the Tigers made a big jump in his recruitment “They stand pretty high in my recruitment,” Babalola said on March 12. “Like I said, I’m still trying to sort things out with the rest of my visits, but they do stand pretty high with me.”

Babalola now has a couple of connections starting with his brother, who attends Tuskegee University. His brother has been to Auburn now and plays at least a small factor in where Babalola could decide to play. Also, he hit it off with fellow Nigerian, Favour Edwin. “Talking to that man right there, Favour Edwin,” Babalola said on March 12. “Getting to know him, knowing his background and his story. Just getting to talk to him throughout my visit. I’m Nigerian, too. So getting to connect with him and learn his story was definitely big.”

Auburn probably stands higher than it gets credit for at this time. This official visit is one that could grab his attention according to our intel.

OL – Malachi Goodman, Paramus (NJ) Paramus Catholic

Auburn is new in the race for the 6-foot-5 315 pound offensive lineman. Even so, things have happened in a hurry here. Auburn has seen him twice in person in the month of May, and he has been on campus. He is making a very quick trip back after first checking it out. We do not think this is for no reason–Auburn is making a move in this recruitment. Can it outlast Georgia, Penn State, Alabama, and USC? Right now it seems that Penn State and Georgia are the two to beat. Auburn has a chance to put itself at the top with those with this official visit.

The post Where Auburn stands with official visitors ahead of big weekend appeared first on On3.

Auburn will host three major official visitors over the weekend.
