During the latest episode of Andy Staples On3<\/em><\/a>, Pete Nakos<\/strong> joined the show to discuss a fascinating transfer for Michigan<\/a><\/strong> in Amorion Walker<\/a><\/strong>, who\u2019s been coined a boomerang transfer due to previously playing for the Wolverines.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u2019ve got to talk about a boomerang, too. I love when we have a boomerang. Philip Dukes<\/strong>, our colleague at On3, is the one who came up with this term, boomerang transfer, for somebody who leaves a school and then comes back to that school,\u201d Andy Staples prefaced<\/a>. \u201cAmorion Walker from Michigan is your latest boomerang transfer. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s tweeted twice in the last four months. One to say he committed to Ole Miss<\/a><\/strong> in January, and then one this past weekend, saying he\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nakos believes Walker\u2019s return is a good sign for the Wolverines, and he\u2019ll be able to see the playing field early and often for Sherrone Moore\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> team.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig, big pickup for Michigan,\u201d Nakos started<\/a>. \u201cHe transferred to Ole Miss as like a quarterback I believe, but when he was at Michigan, he was also seeing time as a wide receiver. It\u2019s unclear at the moment which position he\u2019s gonna play, but either way, I think it\u2019s a there\u2019s a need at cornerback at Michigan right now, and there\u2019s a need at wide receiver too. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo a guy who can do both is probably going to get some playing time, and definitely be used, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Staples even compared Walker to Travis Hunter of Colorado<\/a><\/strong>, thinking Michigan could use Walker on both sides of the football when the time comes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like Travis Hunter has inspired a new generation of two-way players, because you\u2019re hearing about that a lot more,\u201d Staples stated<\/a>. \u201cGuys that are coming in, and maybe they\u2019re one, maybe they\u2019re both. But maybe you play them both. \u2026 And look, why not? If you have ball skills. If you\u2019re the type of corner that we\u2019re talking about, you know, the six-foot, six-foot-one, rangy guy, and you have ball skills, you can definitely help at receiver. Plus, you understand what the guys defending you are trying to do, because that\u2019s what you\u2019ve been playing. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo yeah, I definitely think \u2014 I think it\u2019s hard to do what Travis Hunter was doing, where you\u2019re playing every snap. But in certain packages, why not? I mean, if you\u2019ve got the person and the athleticism, just yeah, give the other team something else to think about. \u2026 I always like that. I mean, look, that\u2019s what won Charles Woodson the Heisman. The playing of receiver, the returning of the kicks and and all that. But it is, it is going to be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Time will tell what Michigan does with Amorion Walker, but it\u2019s evident the possibilities are endless for the prospect with the Wolverines in 2024.<\/p>\n
