{"id":49921,"date":"2024-05-01T15:37:30","date_gmt":"2024-05-01T20:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/?p=49921"},"modified":"2024-05-01T15:37:30","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T20:37:30","slug":"jeremiah-trotter-jr-doesnt-feel-any-pressure-to-live-up-to-fathers-legacy-with-philadelphia-eagles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/jeremiah-trotter-jr-doesnt-feel-any-pressure-to-live-up-to-fathers-legacy-with-philadelphia-eagles\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeremiah Trotter Jr. doesn\u2019t feel \u2018any pressure\u2019 to live up to father\u2019s legacy with Philadelphia Eagles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Clemson linebacker <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/jeremiah-trotter-jr-60225\/\">Jeremiah Trotter Jr.<\/a><\/strong> said he doesn\u2019t feel \u201cany pressure\u201d to live up to his father\u2019s legacy after the Philadelphia Eagles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/pro\/news\/jeremiah-trotter-jr-selected-by-philadelphia-eagles-in-2024-nfl-draft-clemson-linebacker\/\">selected him in the fifth round<\/a> of the 2024 NFL Draft this past Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>Trotter Jr., whose father, <strong>Jeremiah Trotter<\/strong>, is a member of the Eagles\u2019 Hall of Fame, remains focused on carving out his own legacy in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, for me I didn\u2019t feel like there was any pressure,\u201d Trotter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3aQnU5z9nGg\">said<\/a> after being drafted. \u201cMy dad would always talk to me and say there is no pressure. \u2018You\u2019re your own player, your own man. You have your own you journey.\u2019 We\u2019re different, as far as how we play the game. And I just got to go out there and be me, use the tools that God blessed me with and use them to the best of my ability and try to be the best player I can be as an individual. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t feel like there is any pressure to live up to his legacy or anything. I don\u2019t feel like there is a weight on my back. I\u2019m just trying to get to work and just be the best I can be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trotter Jr. spent three seasons at Clemson, starting 26 consecutive games in 2022-23. He tallied 202 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 13.0 sacks, 13 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and four interceptions\u00a0during his career with the Tigers. Trotter Jr. earned First-Team All-ACC honors in 2023 and was a finalist for The Butkus Award. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeremiah Trotter discusses emotions of seeing son, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., go to Philadelphia Eagles<\/h2>\n<p>His dad played eight seasons with the Eagles, making four Pro Bowls and earning an All-Pro selection in 2000. Trotter openly talked about the emotions of his son getting the phone call from the Eagles\u2019 brass. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a moment for myself thinking about all of that, thinking about Jeremiah and all the hard work he put in,\u201d he said, via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philadelphiaeagles.com\/news\/a-very-emotional-moment-for-eagles-hall-of-famer-jeremiah-trotter\">team\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cI thought about doing all of those interviews in my days on the team, holding Jeremiah in my arms. I\u2019m super proud of what Jeremiah and what he\u2019s accomplished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t jump on the phone call. It was his moment. He got off the phone and said, \u2018I\u2019m staying home,\u2019 and I just broke down, man. It was a very emotional moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey, and you know what?
