As stories of tampering and lucrative NIL<\/a> offers in recruiting and the transfer portal<\/a> persist, brands continue to use college athletes as a marketing tool. <\/p>\n

Gold\u2019s Gym<\/strong> launched<\/a> plans this week for a campaign featuring student-athletes targeted at a younger demographic. And more than 45 college athletes participated<\/a> in a recent marketing campaign for\u00a0McDonald<\/strong>\u2018s franchises located in and around the\u00a0Atlantic Coast Conference<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0footprint. The Chicago White Sox<\/strong> decided to spend dollars on NIL for a second consecutive year, too. <\/p>\n

All of this plays against the backdrop of administrators pushing for federal legislation on Capitol Hill. Companies are not slowed down by those efforts, though. The NIL market is only expanding. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get to the deals that highlighted this week in NIL.<\/p>\n

LSU\u2019s Angel Reese joins 2023 SI Swimsuit<\/h2>\n

Angel Reese<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has become one of the most marketable college athletes following this spring\u2019s national title run. Now she will appear<\/a> in this year\u2019s\u00a0SI Swimsuit<\/em>\u00a0edition next to LSU gymnast\u00a0Livvy Dunne<\/a><\/strong>, who was\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0as part of the magazine last month.<\/p>\n

LSU<\/a>\u00a0will have two athletes featured in this year\u2019s edition of\u00a0Sports Illustrated Swimsuit<\/em>, which is set to release May 18. They are the first two college athletes to ever appear in the swimsuit issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve done so much within a year,\u201d Reese\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0SI<\/em>. \u201cWe weren\u2019t even supposed to be in the Final Four. We had nine new players, and it was coach [Kim Mulkey]\u2019s second year in the SEC, so we didn\u2019t know what to expect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Landing two athletes on the cover shows the success LSU has had in the\u00a0NIL\u00a0space across the past 22 months. Dunne is the most followed college athlete in the country. And maybe nobody else has seen their off-court profile rise like Reese.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0Maryland<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0transfer, she immediately made LSU a national title contender in her first year in Baton Rouge. Her profile started to rise, too. Nicknamed the \u201cBayou Barbie\u201d for her on-court demeanor and eyelash extensions and long pink nails, Reese has embraced college athletics\u2019 NIL era. She filed to\u00a0trademark<\/a>\u00a0the nickname and has been openly campaign for a partnership with the\u00a0Mattel<\/strong>\u00a0toy company.<\/p>\n

Averaging a double-double on the court this past season, she signed endorsement deals with\u00a0Bose<\/strong>,\u00a0Coach<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sonic<\/strong>. The list has only grown following the national title, as her social media following has jumped to more than four million followers.<\/p>\n

Reese is represented by\u00a0Jeanine Ogbonnaya<\/strong>. The 6-foot-3 forward has seen her\u00a0On3 NIL Valuation<\/a>\u00a0rise in unison with her social media following. Entering March Madness, Angel Reese had a $371,000 On3 NIL Valuation. Her valuation now is $1.4 million, which is the\u00a0top-ranked women\u2019s basketball valuation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik signs with Fred Caldwell Chevrolet<\/h2>\n

Cade Klubnik<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has joined<\/a> the club of college football players to enter into a car deal. The unquestioned\u00a0Clemson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0starting quarterback has signed with\u00a0Fred Caldwell Chevrolet<\/strong>, the dealership confirmed to On3 on Monday after the former five-star recruit in the 2022 cycle announced the news in an\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0post.<\/p>\n

Over the last two years, the Clover, South Carolina, based Chevrolet dealer has worked closely with\u00a0Bryan Bresee<\/a><\/strong>. With the defensive tackle drafted in the first round of last month\u2019s NFL draft by the\u00a0New Orleans Saints<\/strong>, Fred Caldwell Chevrolet general manager\u00a0Martin McKinley<\/strong>\u00a0knew he would need to find a new partner if he wanted to continue his NIL program.<\/p>\n

Klubnik was a no brainer. He was tapped as Clemson\u2019s starting quarterback in the ACC Championship Game after spending most of last season behind\u00a0DJ Uiagalelei<\/a><\/strong>. Coming off the bench late in the first quarter, he led the Tigers to a conference title throwing for 279 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually had Bryan Bresee in a truck for the last two years,\u201d McKinley said. \u201cWhen he decided to go pro, I had already developed a relationship with Cade\u2019s representation. So I thought that was pretty easy. I\u2019m a Clemson grad. I pay my IPTAY dollars. I just try to support my school. It\u2019s more than that than anything for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

McKinley said he has already seen his return on investment through Klubnik\u2019s promotion on social media. Since the quarterback posted about his new truck, the photo has been liked more than 20,500 times. The quarterback directly tagged Fred Caldwell in the caption, too. He holds a $335,000\u00a0On3 NIL Valuation<\/a>, which ranks in the top 125 of college football. His valuation is ranked third on the Clemson football team.<\/p>\n

With NIL playing a factor in some recruitments, prospects can easily view Klubnik\u2019s new car on social media and see the possibilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it helps them recruit, that\u2019s great,\u201d McKinley said. \u201cI would never go to a high school and offer them a car to try to get them to go to Clemson or anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Colorado\u2019s Travis Hunter adds NIL deal with WaterLand Co.<\/h2>\n

Travis Hunter<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has long documented his love for fishing across his social media channels. Now the\u00a0Colorado<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0cornerback is finding\u00a0NIL deals\u00a0centered around his hobby. Hunter\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0a partnership Thursday afternoon with\u00a0WaterLand Co.<\/strong>\u00a0on Instagram. Known for its premium polarized fishing sunglasses, the former On3 Five-Star Plus+ prospect is seen with a fish in his hands while wearing the sunglasses.<\/p>\n

The tinted glasses provide fishers the capability to\u00a0see underwater objects without noticing the water.\u00a0According to the website, the action of a fish swimming over a bed beneath a tree can be seen thanks to product. Known for its ambassadorship programs with\u00a0Bassmaster Elite Series<\/strong>\u00a0members, the company has now expanded to college football.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the football field and on the water, our guy\u00a0Travis Hunter\u00a0gets the job done,\u201d WaterLand wrote in the Instagram caption.<\/p>\n

The former No. 2 recruit in the country has found plenty of NIL success. He\u00a0signed<\/a>\u00a0a multi-year deal with digital banking platform\u00a0Greenwood<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0back in July. Since then he has aligned with brands like Celsius Drink, the\u00a0Michael Strahan Brand<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Actively Black<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0SoHoodie<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hunter has a $1.7 million\u00a0On3 NIL Valuation<\/a>, which ranks No. 3 in the college football NIL rankings. <\/p>\n

White Sox return to NIL, add eight athletes to CHISOX Athlete roster<\/h2>\n

The Chicago White Sox have returned to NIL after launching its first marketing campaign with college athletes a year ago. <\/p>\n

The Major League Baseball club announced Wednesday the signing of eight new college athletes to contracts as part of its CHISOX Athlete NIL program. The initiative was created \u201cto help empower student-athletes, their voices and careers both on and off the field,\u201d the White Sox\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Sticking to its roots, each athlete the White Sox signed has ties to the Windy City. The second wave of CHISOX Athletes includes:<\/p>\n

Minnesota<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0receiver\u00a0Chris Autman-Bell<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Kankakee, IllinoisIllinois-Chicago<\/strong>\u00a0midfielder\u00a0Yulexi Diaz<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of ChicagoNotre Dame<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>goalie and punter\u00a0Bryan Dowd<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Willow Springs, IllinoisBall State<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>outside hitter\u00a0Addie Halverson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Spring Grove, IllinoisNorthwestern<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>striker\u00a0Bridget Mitchell<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Lake Forest, IllinoisWisconsin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0guard\u00a0Brooke Schramek<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Naperville, IllinoisMichigan State<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0gymnast\u00a0Skyla Schulte<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Bolingbrook, IllinoisNebraska<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>guard\u00a0Ahron Ulis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Chicago Heights, Illinois<\/p>\n

As part of the deal, the athletes have branding opportunities with financial incentives for social media promotion. The organization plans on welcoming them to a game in a private suite. They\u2019ll also have access to professional resources and career mentorship from the White Sox front office.<\/p>\n

Other perks for the CHISOX Athletes include a professional photoshoot at\u00a0Guaranteed Rate Field<\/strong>\u00a0or nearby Chicagoland sports venue, a custom White Sox jersey, additional ChiSox Athlete-branded merchandise and special opportunities at the ballpark such as throwing out the first pitch.<\/p>\n

Garrett Nussmeier<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0opted not to enter his name into the\u00a0transfer portal<\/a>\u00a0this spring. This week he signed<\/a> with\u00a0Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys<\/strong>.The USC-focused House of Victory<\/a><\/strong> collective announced contracts with Tackett Curtis<\/a><\/strong>, Zachariah Branch<\/a><\/strong> and Zion Branch<\/a><\/strong> this week. Canes Connection<\/a><\/strong> continues to be a leader in the NIL collective space in Miami, signing Jahfari Harvey<\/a><\/strong>, Jared Harrison-Hunte<\/a><\/strong> and Brashard Smith<\/strong><\/a>. The hair brand Hally announced partnerships with softball players Jaiden Fields<\/strong><\/a>, Kiki Milloy<\/strong><\/a> and Karlyn Pickens<\/a><\/strong>. Each athlete wore school-branded clothing in their social media posts. Clemson lacrosse player Sofia Chepenik<\/a><\/strong> agreed to a NIL deal with Loot Mogul. The deal, brokered by Addison Sports & Entertainment, is believed to the largest endorsement deal in women\u2019s lacrosse.Hoosiers For Good<\/strong><\/a>, a charity-based NIL collective officially partnered with Indiana athletics, facilitated deals between 24 athletes and 10 local charities as part of its 2023 spring class. It is Hoosiers For Good\u2019s largest single class to date. The deals included key Indiana football transfers such as Jacob Mangum-Farrar<\/strong><\/a>, Andison Coby<\/strong><\/a>, Jamier Johnson<\/strong><\/a>, Kobee Minor<\/strong><\/a>, Myles J<\/strong><\/a>a<\/a><\/strong>ckson<\/strong><\/a>, Lanell Carr<\/strong><\/a> and Josh Henderson<\/strong><\/a>.Bo Nix<\/a><\/strong> will host<\/a> a youth football camp on July 15 at North Eugene High School. Tickets cost $125.<\/p>\n
