Pritchett spent five seasons with the Tigers, where he was a three-year starter.

In the 2023 campaign, Pritchett made nine appearances, tallying 22 tackles, three passes defended and an interception, which he returned for 33 yards. In five seasons at Auburn, Pritchett amassed 51 appearances while notching 115 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 29 passes defended, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception.

Pritchett isn’t only effective in pass defense. In 2021, Pritchett was one of Auburn’s primary kick returners. He returned 10 kicks for 313 total yards, averaging 31.3 yards per attempt.

Pritchett’s best individual season came in 2022 when he collected career-highs of 37 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. Pritchett could have eclipsed these numbers this past season, but missed three games due to injury.

Nehemiah Pritchett played high school football at Jackson (AL), where he was a three-star prospect there and the No. 485 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

When Pritchett announced his decision to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, he made sure to leave Auburn fans with a proper goodbye.

“Choosing Auburn University was one of the best decisions of my life,” Pritchett said. “Receiving a degree and playing football at this university were easily some of my biggest blessings. The memories I’ve made at Auburn University will forever stay with me as I continue to work toward my dreams.”

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Nehemiah Pritchett

Now, Pritchett will look to make more memories on football’s biggest stage. NFL analyst Lance Zierlein believes the 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback has the tools to accomplish just that.

“Long, slender outside corner who might have improved enough in off-man coverage for consideration in most coverage schemes,” Zierlein wrote. “Pritchett has the length to stall the release and be a route bully underneath. He’s fairly comfortable from press and will hug up on double moves and comebacks, using his length to impact throwing windows.

“He might need safety help over the top, as he can be a little sluggish to flip and sprint deep from his pedal, and his lateral transitions are average, allowing small separations at lateral break points. His size and length will be appealing on Day 2 of the draft, but he needs to become a more consistent tackler in run support to find consistent starting reps.”

The post Seattle Seahawks select Nehemiah Pritchett in fifth round of 2024 NFL Draft appeared first on On3.

The Seattle Seahawks have selected Auburn cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett with the No. 136 overall pick…

[1

post-49381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
