Femi Oladejo<\/a><\/strong> made a big change in his football life this offseason, transferring from Cal<\/a><\/strong> to UCLA<\/strong><\/a> over the winter. But he said his body hasn\u2019t changed much making the trip down from Northern California to SoCal.<\/p>\n

Oladejo was recently asked about his measurables after a spring practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c6\u20193, 250 right around there,\u201d Oladejo said, adding that he has probably lost three or four pounds.<\/p>\n

He is one of five Pac-12 players to transfer into the program along with former California wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant<\/strong><\/a>, former USC wide receiver Kyle Ford<\/a><\/strong>, former Oregon<\/strong><\/a> defensive lineman Keanu Williams<\/a><\/strong> and former Oregon tight end\u00a0Moliki Matavao<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Oladejo said the decision to transfer to UCLA was an easy one<\/a> and that he feels he has adopted very well to the culture in Westwood.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely similar but everything is great,\u201d Oladejo said. \u201cNo complaints at all. Very grateful. I think I was able to adapt very well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Femi Oladejo could be in line for a big-time role this season<\/h2>\n

In his first season with UCLA, Femi Oladejo could end up being a major contributor to the Bruins. That what he was for Cal last season.<\/p>\n

One of the Golden Bears\u2019 top defenders, Oladejo finished the 2022 season with 91 tackles and one interception. In one game against his future teammates, he made 17 stops.<\/p>\n

But Oladejo didn\u2019t say when asked what he wants his role to be that he wants to be a superstar. He gave a modest answer explaining that he wants to do whatever he can to win ballgames.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing in a contributing to the team,\u201d Oladejo said. \u201cJust being a ball player and helping the team win in any way. Special teams or whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it wouldn\u2019t be a surprise if Oladejo carves out a big role for himself.<\/p>\n

Bruins head coach Chip Kelly<\/a><\/strong> has been complementary of the new linebacker, saying that he his work ethic has stood out this spring.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s obviously got some physical qualities that we really like,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cHe\u2019s tall, (and) he\u2019s long, covers a lot of space in a short amount of time; he\u2019s got really good movement skills for a guy that big, can get into a lot of passing lanes and disrupt some things because of his length. But I really just think it\u2019s his work ethic and his mindset that have been really, really impressive so far since he got here in January.\u201d<\/p>\n
