Oklahoma<\/a><\/strong> is among the programs charging hard for Lewisville (Texas) five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pounder has taken a bevy of trips to Norman throughout his recruitment and returned again this week as Brent Venables<\/a><\/strong> and Co. look to land a pledge from one of the top trench monsters in the 2025 cycle:<\/p>\n

Fasusi also visited last month and has locked in a June 14 official visit with the new SEC program. At the beginning on April, Oklahoma made Fasusi\u2019s top seven schools, along with\u00a0USC<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Oregon<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Missouri<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Georgia<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Texas<\/a><\/strong>. The Sooners are among the top of that pack.<\/p>\n

\u201cMissouri, (Texas) A&M, (Oklahoma) and Texas, I\u2019m really tight with those schools,\u201d\u00a0Fasusi told On3 in March<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cSo, I think I\u2019m getting to that spot where it\u2019s getting hard to choose. It\u2019s a battle, for sure.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re all still in a tight space. My relationship with coach Bedenbaugh and coach\u00a0[Brent] Venables<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is still tight,\u201d Fasusi told Sooner Scoop<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cThey are still on top of the list, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fasusi is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 5 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He\u2019s also the No. 6 player in Texas.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the in-state Longhorns that currently have the edge for Fasusi, according to the\u00a0On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)<\/a><\/strong>. Last month, Longhorns insider Eric Nahlin logged a pick in favor of Texas. Fasusi has also recently logged positive visits to Missouri and Georgia. <\/p>\n

Oklahoma Class Breakdown<\/h2>\n

Despite it only being April, Oklahoma already is off to a strong start, with 13 total commitments \u2014 seven of whom rank as four-star prospects \u2014 and a No. 11 ranking in the\u00a0On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Offense and in-state targets were the focus early on in the 2025 cycle for OU, with five of their first nine commitments hailing from the Sooner State and seven expected to play on offensive at the next level. Co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell has his quarterback with four-star\u00a0Kevin Sperry<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0out of the Oklahoma City area. <\/p>\n

His pledge has helped spur on a string of receiver commitments, led by in-state four-star\u00a0Elijah Thomas<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Texas-based three-star\u00a0Gracen Harris<\/strong><\/a>. The Sooners added another key piece to the puzzle on March 29 with the addition of four-star running back\u00a0Tory Blaylock<\/a><\/strong>, who chose OU over Texas, Ohio State and a number of others.<\/p>\n

On the defensive side, the Sooners have three early commitments from linebacker\u00a0Marcus James<\/a><\/strong>, EDGE Alexander\u00a0Shieldnight<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and defensive lineman\u00a0Ka\u2019Mori Moore<\/a><\/strong>. They\u2019ve added to that in a big way in the past week, landing commitments from four-star defensive lineman\u00a0Trent Wilson<\/a><\/strong>, four-star cornerback\u00a0Maliek Hawkins<\/strong><\/a>, and three-star safety\u00a0Marcus Wimberly<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
