Sumter (S.C.) four-star EDGE Anthony Addison<\/a><\/strong> picked up an offer from South Carolina back in November, and the Gamecocks have been a major threat in his recruitment ever since. <\/p>\n

Addison returned to Columbia in January, and the momentum has been trending toward Shane Beamer and Co. ever since. On Monday, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons logged an expert pick in favor of the Gamecocks to land Addison in the Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Outside linebackers and EDGEs coach Sterling Lucas is Addison\u2019s primary recruiter, and he has a great relationship with the Gamecocks\u2019 third-year assistant, he told GamecockCentral<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was excited. And it was an in-person offer. In-person offers are always the best because you never know they were coming,\u201d Addison said shortly after landing the offer in November. \u201cI didn\u2019t expect him to offer me because every other visit, I go up there expecting it. But this time I really just went up there to watch the game because it\u2019s Clemson versus South Carolina, and I grew up watching it. So when he told me to come up, I was like, I was coming. I was planning on going anyway. And when he offered me, it was just like, wow, he really offered me. And they were about to play Clemson, so it was just amazing. And my brother was there, so we got to cherish the moment together. I wish I could go back to that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gamecocks battling a host of other schools for Addison<\/h2>\n

Addison, who finished his junior campaign with 96 tackles, 6 sacks, 25 TFLs, a forced fumble, and a pick-six, also has offers from Tennessee, West Virginia, USF, Cincinnati, Duke, and Coastal Carolina, among others.<\/p>\n

As it stands today, he currently has official visits locked in with both Duke and South Carolina the second and third weekends in June. <\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is the No. 361 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation\u2019s No. 34 EDGE and the No. 5 recruit in South Carolina. <\/p>\n
