Providence Day School Five-Star Plus+ offensive lineman <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/david-sanders-150016\/\">David Sanders Jr.<\/a><\/strong> on campus over the weekend as the Vols battle Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and South Carolina for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/rankings\/industry-player\/football\/2025\/\">On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>\u2019s top-ranked offensive tackle and No. 2 prospect overall.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first of two visits this month the 6-foot-6, 275-pound Sanders will take to Knoxville as he is set to return this coming weekend as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/tennessee-volunteers\/news\/5-star-david-sanders-details-saturday-visit-to-rocky-top\/\">Sanders gave the trips high marks<\/a>, and his family who was with him did as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a great time in Knoxville!\u201d Sanders\u2019 mother Samantha said. \u201cIt was a quick turnaround but overall we enjoyed ourselves. David hasn\u2019t had an opportunity to see an actual practice, so it was important we saw the team in action prior to official visits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Josh Heupel, offensive line coach Glen Elarbee and the staff made the Sanders family feel very comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe coaching staff was happy to answer any additional questions we may have had,\u201d Samantha Sanders said. \u201cAfter practice, there was a recruiting event at Coach Heupel\u2019s home. All the coaches attended and we had a nice time interacting with them and other prospects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to next weekend and attending the spring game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the Vols spring game, Sanders will begin taking his official visits with South Carolina getting the first one during its spring game in two weekends. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/clemson-tigers\/\">Clemson<\/a> (May 31), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/georgia-bulldogs\/\">Georgia<\/a> (June 7), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/tennessee-volunteers\/\">Tennessee<\/a> (June 14), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/alabama-crimson-tide\/\">Alabama<\/a> (June 18) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/ohio-state-buckeyes\/\">Ohio State<\/a> (June 21) are locked in for the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders has been visiting Tennessee since he was in the eighth grade and likes the way Heupel is building his program.<\/p>\n<p>As a junior, Sanders was awarded the Gatorade State Player of the Year Award after helping Providence Day School win another state championship.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/tennessee-volunteers\/news\/david-sanders-5-star-ot-has-another-strong-visit-to-tennessee-volunteers\/\">Five-Star Plus+ OT David Sanders has another strong visit at Tennessee<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.on3.com\/\">On3<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennessee had Charlotte (N.C.)
