\u2014 South Carolina is expected to host two transfer portal targets on its campus for official visits this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Gamecocks are set to host Notre Dame transfer portal running back\u00a0Logan Diggs<\/a><\/strong> and Syracuse transfer portal EDGE Jatius Geer<\/a><\/strong> on campus this weekend and we\u2019ve confirmed that Diggs is in town.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Diggs visit has been in the works for quite some time and spurred Wednesday\u2019s comment in that Carolina Confidential that \u201cthere\u2019s enough mutual interest there for us to be tracking it but probably not enough yet for Carolina fans to get their hopes up yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

But we wanted for things to materialize a bit more before putting it out there. <\/p>\n

I would still frame Diggs recruitment the same way that I did then but any time you have a prospect on campus, it means a school has a chance.<\/p>\n

As mentioned before, Diggs is a Louisana native who was recruited to ND by Brian Kelly. LSU sources fully expect him to end up there.<\/p>\n

While the Tigers are the team to beat, there\u2019s at least one other SEC school firmly in the mix and that\u2019s Ole Miss. Diggs visited Ole Miss officially during the middle of the week and it\u2019s been apparent that Lane Kiffin can be pesky in the transfer portal.<\/p>\n

Diggs\u2019 South Carolina visit seems to point to a willingness to listen and the Gamecocks should have a better depth chart to sell to the 6-foot, 214-pounder than either of the other schools.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s going to be tough but the Gamecocks will take a swing here and see what happens. I have reason to believe Diggs is at least willing to listen, and South Carolina has a much better story at running back than the Tigers.<\/p>\n

\u2014 We\u2019ve considered South Carolina the favorite for Geer, who played his high school ball at Belton Honea Path, and that remains the case now. It feels sort of like a formality at this point.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-6, 233-pounder emerged as a big-time pass-rusher for Syracuse as a redshirt freshman this past season, playing in all 13 games with 12 starts. <\/p>\n

Geer finished the year with 33 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Earlier this week we mentioned that South Carolina has been in contact with N.C. State transfer portal running back\u00a0Demie Sumo-Karngbaye<\/a><\/strong> and that there is mutual interest \u2014 now we can report that Sumo-Karngbaye was on campus for a midweek official visit beginning on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

We are still gathering specifics on that trip.<\/p>\n

The Gamecocks are in this one but so are Colorado and Missouri (and maybe others). I believe he is set to visit Colorado this weekend.<\/p>\n
