Bishop Alemany prospect Phillip Bell. The two visited Michigan in March.

Here are some highlights from our interview.

On his overall thoughts on Bell:

“He’s one of the most technical route runners I’ve ever met. He’s been doing that since he was in the eighth grade. We would put him in high school tournaments, and he would always excel. Phillip has kept doing his thing and continues to get better. Once he gets the elite top end speed, the sky is the limit.”

On Bell’s biggest strengths:

“His route running and his hands. The kid has some huge hands. He has NFL hands — 10 1/2 right now. That’s hard to find in a sophomore. His route running and his hands are crazy. Let’s put it this way, Michigan has some great receivers, but I haven’t seen any technical route runners like Phillip. I think he would do amazing at Michigan.”

On his overall thoughts on Michigan:

“I’m originally from Michigan. I played at Farmington Hills Harrison before they shut down. I ended up transferring to Auburn high school in Alabama and ended up in California for junior college. But Michigan is home for me. I grew up watching them. It’s always been one of my top schools. I know what they can offer for a lot of young me. I just want to take some of my guys out there to see what it’s like. They all love Michigan, so it’s working out at the moment. I love the staff — all the way from the recruiters to Coach (Steve) Clinkscale. Coach (Mike) Hart was a legend there. You have to love Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. I actually met him when he was recruiting Najee Harris at Antioch. He’s a great guy for sure.”

On Michigan’s recruiting efforts in California:

“I know Jay (Harbaugh) as well and have talked to him a couple of times. He’s doing a good job out here. You also have the advantage of Jim Harbaugh having coached the San Francisco 49ers. He knows the area. Jay always comes out here. Michigan is pretty big in California, which is great to see. We love that they are coming out here so often. We also love going out there to visit, so I think they are doing a really good job overall.”

The post Blue Chips: Insight on Top 100 Michigan WR target Phillip Bell appeared first on On3.

I recently caught up with California-based wide receiver trainer Steve Briscoe, who works closely with…

[1

post-4372","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
