First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?<\/p>\n

We take a closer look at Miami\u2019s transfer portal situation with the portal window now closed. The Canes are chasing some talented players and could still land some of them. So don\u2019t miss that.<\/p>\n

A JUCO player that Miami offered on Sunday? Well, that was Coffeeyville (Kan.) Community College OL Amaury Wiggins. Don\u2019t miss what he is saying.<\/p>\n

Then we had your NFL Draft stories on the Canes that were selected, of course, with Tyrique Stevenson getting grabbed in Round 2 as the first Miami player taken and Will Mallory in the fifth round with DJ Ivey in the 7th. And we began a series breaking down the top 5 breakout players for the coming season gleaned from what we heard about and saw with our own eyes this spring. At No. 5 we have WR Isaiah Horton, at No. 4 Jacolby George and this morning we\u2019re up to No. 3 Daryl Porter, Jr., with our explanation on each.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s our breakdown of realistic expectations for this Miami offense under Shannon Dawson, and we look at it through a lens no one has to this point. Then we move on to the defensive side \u2013 is there reason to think this unit will be better under Lance Guidry than Kevin Steele? So be sure to check those stories out.<\/p>\n

On300 and priority Miami Hurricane target Miami Gardens (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star safety Zaquan Patterson has narrowed his top schools to five, which included the \u2018Canes. We have an update with him.<\/p>\n

Miami is also aggressively pursuing Clearwater (Fla.) Cavalry Christian three-star offensive lineman Joseph Ionata, and his coach told CaneSport that per Alex Mirabal he\u2019s at the top of the Canes\u2019 wishlist as a center.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School 2026 safety Simeon Caldwell, the nephew of former Miami defensive coordinator Tim Walton, added a Hurricanes offer this past week as Power Five programs begin to take interest in the up-and-comer. Check out his thoughts, too.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School wide receiver Naeem Burroughs is one of the latest 2026 prospects to earn an offer from the Miami Hurricanes, a program he and his father watched throughout his upbringing in Duval County. Read about that.<\/p>\n

Miami has begun recruiting elite 2025 EDGE Javion Hilson, the No. 22 overall prospect in the initial 2025 On300 rankings, and offered the four-star prospect April 18. His take?<\/p>\n

A phone call netted Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton 2025 four-star receiver Ryan Ghea, the No. 12 tight end in the On3 Industry Ranking, an offer. He was born in the city and has high interest in Miami.<\/p>\n

Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson was at Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass High School Thursday to check up on 2024 three-star offensive lineman Zuri Madison, a prospect the Hurricanes have quietly kept their eye on in this year\u2019s cycle. Read about that, too.<\/p>\n
