TAMPA, FLORIDA \u2014 Does it matter much to 4-star receiver TJ Moore<\/a> of Tampa Catholic (Fla.) that Florida has a 5-star quarterback (DJ Lagway<\/a><\/strong>) on the commitment list for 2024?<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, honestly, it does,\u201d Moore said. \u201cI\u2019ve seen him play and I know that him throwing me the ball, that\u2019s plenty of touchdowns. He is legit. The way he can throw the ball. And how he can run. In case everybody gets bottled up, he can take off.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gators recently have emerged as Moore\u2019s leader. He\u2019s the No. 26 receiver in the country for the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.<\/p>\n

But while Florida\u2019s in front it\u2019s not by a lot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say Florida right now is a 10. Clemson is like a 9 and a half,\u201d Moore told Gators Online. \u201c(The Gators) really treated me well when I visited. I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d like it. They exceeded my expectations.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

What stands out with Florida?<\/p>\n

\u201cJust the way they show my family love and the way they show me love,\u201d Moore said. \u201cYou can definitely tell I\u2019m at the top of their recruiting list.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Florida staff has impressed Moore<\/h2>\n

Moore, listed at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, has hit if off thus far with new Gators receivers coach Billy Gonzales<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s cool,\u201d Moore said. \u201cI didn\u2019t know too much about him but he had this video .. he had a couple videos. He had a video with him and all his past players and how they treated him as a coach. And him showing us techniques and stuff. Like coming in and out of breaks, running routes and stuff. And I really enjoyed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also of note, Moore praised David Doeker, Florida\u2019s receivers assistant.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Doeker is cool,\u201d Moore said.<\/p>\n

Moore has not locked down his official visit dates yet, but said he \u201cwas thinking of June 9-11\u201d for the Gators. Additionally, \u201cClemson, Tennessee, USC and Georgia\u201d: will get officials, too.<\/p>\n

Moore\u2019s next visit to Florida could be that official, but he noted, \u201cIf I have free time, I\u2019ll try to get up there an an unofficial.\u201d<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t met Lagway, but the two do communicate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe text each other every once in a while. Like every couple of weeks,\u201d Moore said. \u201cHe\u2019s just telling me, \u2018Come home. Come home. We\u2019ll get you right. We\u2019ll treat you well,\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
