Former Buckeyes wing Eugene Brown III transfers to Georgia Southern<\/h2>\n

Former Ohio State wing Eugene Brown III<\/a> has found a new home. Actually, he\u2019s returning home. The Conyers, Georgia, native has committed to Georgia Southern.<\/p>\n

Currently a junior, Brown has two years of eligibility remaining.<\/p>\n

Brown averaged 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game last season for the Buckeyes. He had to carve out a role for himself in the rotation after missing the first 11 games with a concussion that he suffered during the preseason. Brown was also sidelined the previous year for four games with a concussion.<\/p>\n

His positional versatility helped him earn minutes in 2022-23. Brown\u2019s \u201cswitch-ability\u201d from three through five came in handy, particularly while Ohio State was without center Zed Key<\/a>, who suffered and then re-aggravated a left shoulder sprain. Brown often found himself serving as a makeshift five, but he provided a scoring boost on occasion. He logged five or more points three times in the final nine games.<\/p>\n

Brown enjoyed his most success as a sophomore, however. He started 10 games and played in 26 total that year, averaging a career-high 17 minutes per contest. Notably, Brown posted a 10-point, six-rebound, three-steal, two-block stat line in the Buckeyes\u2019 overtime win versus Indiana in February 2022. The month before that, he recorded a game-saving block in regulation against Nebraska, setting the stage for an overtime win. Brown appeared in 77 games across his three-year Ohio State career.<\/p>\n

Big Ten home, away opponents revealed for 2023-24 Ohio State season<\/h2>\n

Ohio State already has a pair of marquee non-conference games on the books for next season. The Buckeyes are set to host Texas A&M on Nov. 10. Then, on Dec. 30, they will make the short trip to Cleveland to play West Virginia in a neutral site game.<\/p>\n

The picture of the 2023-24 schedule got a bit clearer Tuesday when the Big Ten revealed home and away opponents for the league slate. Ohio State will play 14 conference foes both at and away from the Schottenstein Center, three Big Ten opponents only at home and three more only on the road.<\/p>\n
