Mooresville (N.C.) Lake Norman High School offensive tackle Ethan Calloway<\/a><\/strong> made his way back to Knoxville last weekend to take another look at Tennessee during their annual Orange & White spring. Following the visit, Calloway discussed his takeaways and more with Volquest.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was definitely crazy,\u201d Calloway said following the event. \u201cI\u2019ll tell what I told them; this is just the spring game, and it\u2019s louder than some of the game days I\u2019ve been to, so it\u2019s crazy. I would definitely say I like it here, is the best way to describe it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calloway has connected with Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee to this point, and getting to see him work with his position group during last Saturday\u2019s game was a high point for the four-star offensive tackle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the highlight was getting to see Elarbee coach,\u201d he said of this. \u201cEveryone responds to a different coaching style. I finally got to see somewhat of a game day because I wasn\u2019t able to get here last year, and I\u2019m just glad I got to see the whole team in action.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, even just pregame, you can tell he is a teacher,\u201d Calloway added on what he saw from Elarbee. \u201cI had even talked to some of the players in the locker room. I love that he\u2019s not just going to yell at you for no reason, you know? If you mess up something, he\u2019ll teach you what to do, and then, if you\u2019re not listening, then he\u2019s going to have to coach you. I mean, that\u2019s just how it is, and I love seeing coaching like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The conversation during the visit centered more on catching up versus diving into the recruiting process since Calloway had not seen the staff since January. Calloways says he communicates with the Tennessee staff multiple times a week, including Elarbee and assistant offensive line coach Kevin Pendleton.<\/p>\n

Calloway also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with fans and previous players during the visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess the best way to say it would be, even though I\u2019ve met a couple of the players, I got to talk to a lot of players that I had never met,\u201d he said of this. \u201cIt felt like it was a conversation with a best friend I hadn\u2019t seen in a week. When me and my mom went to concessions, all of the fans are extremely nice, respectful, everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The nation\u2019s 73rd-overall prospect, according to the On3 rankings, plans to make a commitment before his senior season, after taking official visits during the summer. So where do the Vols stand?<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, haven\u2019t really thought anything about that,\u201d Calloway said. \u201cI haven\u2019t thought much about officials yet. We\u2019re probably going to start thinking about stuff like that here soon. As for where they stand, as much as I hate sounding like a broken record, I don\u2019t really have placements for everyone just yet. I feel it\u2019s unfair to start ranking people if I don\u2019t know where everyone is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calloway recently released his top eight schools, including Tennessee, as he continues to work toward his decision.<\/p>\n
