Clemson<\/a><\/strong> has a lot to be excited about<\/a> with what they could be this fall<\/a>. Now, with spring practice wrapped up<\/a>, the Tigers should be even more roused<\/a> considering the latest that some have to say about a pair of their games.<\/p>\n

Vegas<\/a> released updated odds following the spring period<\/a> and made the Tigers in both of their additions in the first month of their season. First, in their opener in Durham, Dabo Swinney\u2019s team is a near double-digit favorite over Duke<\/a><\/strong>. Then, in their massive matchup in the fourth week against the Seminoles, Clemson was listed as a field goal favorite over FSU.<\/p>\n

The Tigers have not faced Duke since 2018 due to the conference\u2019s previous scheduling model. With the new model in place starting this season<\/a>, they kick things off in Wallace Wade Stadium and try to make an early statement by handling their business by far more than 10.<\/p>\n

After that, September 23rd<\/a> is the date many have circled in the ACC<\/a> and nationally for Clemson. That\u2019s when they\u2019ll host Florida State in a matchup that will arguably feature the league\u2019s two best teams this fall. They were in a similar spot when they played last season in Tallahassee where the Tigers won 34-28 after coming into Doak Campbell\u00a0as -4.5 point favorites.<\/p>\n

The Tigers still have a way to go before everything is ready to roll considering all their new additions, specifically offensively<\/a>. Still, considering it\u2019s the end of April, Clemson will have to feel good about already being favored in two of their first four, including one that will be pivotal to them and in the ACC.<\/p>\n

Swinney evaluates Klubnik\u2019s progress during the spring<\/h2>\n

Dabo Swinney\u00a0was encouraged by\u00a0Clemson\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Cade Klubnik\u2019s<\/a> progress during spring practice.<\/p>\n

Klubnik himself acknowledged steps forward,\u00a0but left room for improvement after the spring game.<\/a>\u00a0Swinney was high on Klubnik\u2019s ability to extend plays and get outside the pocket.<\/p>\n

That type of play could really give the quarterback chances to make a highlight reel for Clemson this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe made some great off-schedule plays and extended plays,\u201d\u00a0Swinney said.\u00a0\u201cI mean, that\u2019s what you love. That\u2019s what I love to see. The rest of it will come together when it needs to be, you know, a couple of tough breaks. I mean, it was a great play by Nate. I mean, the ball is right on the money. And it\u2019s, you know, we\u2019ve kind of played a little short and at worst it needs to be incomplete. But we were kind of tight to the body and Nate reached around tupped it and those are supposed to be picks, you know \u2026\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he did a heck of a job and what you love about him is, man he can extend. I mean, he can really turn you know 2.8 seconds in eight, nine seconds. It\u2019s just hard \u2026 But he\u2019s had a great spring for sure. A really, really good spring. And I\u2019m just pleased with what we\u2019ve been able to get in and so yeah, as being incomplete, yes, we know that but we still have been able to get everything installed. We\u2019ve still been able to lay a good foundation. And now it\u2019s going to come together nicely. I really believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n
