Williams (6-3, 205) holds offers from Alabama<\/a><\/strong>, USC<\/a><\/strong>, Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong>, and many more. Williams released a top seven that did not include Michigan State<\/a><\/strong>, but did include Miami (FL)<\/a><\/strong>, Alabama<\/strong>, Michigan<\/a><\/strong>, Oregon<\/a><\/strong>, Penn State<\/a><\/strong>, Texas<\/a><\/strong>, and UCLA<\/a><\/strong> in early April.<\/p>\n

Despite not making the cut, Williams had been planning a trip to East Lansing for some time now. The Spartans earned themselves a spot on the list after the trip. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey are for sure a top school for me,\u201d Williams said. \u201cThe atmosphere this weekend was amazing weather was great fans were out great college town.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis visit has been in the works for a long time,\u201d Williams said. \u201cMy relationship has grown a lot with the coaching staff, especially with Coach Hazelton. I was able to spend the entire weekend with him. He clearly made it known I am his top linebacker target and I am his guy. It means everything (to hear that) coming from him. I truly am blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams arrived in East Lansing on Friday (April 14) evening in order to begin his visit early, before the Michigan State spring game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was there all day Saturday and most of Sunday,\u201d Williams said. \u201c(Saturday morning) we had meetings, the\u00a0 photoshoot and just feel for the program. Then it was practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

After practice Williams sat down with Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker<\/a><\/strong>, a conversation that really stood out to the four-star.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got to meet with Coach Tucker Saturday night,\u201d Williams said. \u201cHe is just a real genuine guy. He is a\u00a0 humble and chill guy, just one of the realest.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really more than football,\u201d Williams said about his meeting with Tucker. \u201cHe cares about what football can do for me, not what I can do for football. We didn\u2019t really talk about football at all. It was just more about me as a person. I respect him fully for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The defensive background of Tucker along with Michigan State\u2019s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Scottie Hazelton<\/a><\/strong> stood out to Williams, who was impressed by the linebacker group during practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a huge plus for me,\u201d Williams said. \u201cHe is one of the founders of that 4-3 defense. \u201cTheir linebacker room is great right now, they will have a solid squad this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
