Pierce Mooberry<\/a><\/strong> from Omaha (Neb.) Millard North picked up an offer from Iowa State on Thursday, and on Saturday, he was in Lincoln to watch the Nebraska scrimmage. The 6-foot-4 and 196-pound linebacker was surprised that Nebraska was going live in their scrimmage, and Nebraska is pushing for the talented junior to get back to Lincoln next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great,\u201d Mooberry said. \u201cI was surprised. They were full-on hitting and it was even full-go on quarterbacks. It didn\u2019t matter that they were in green. It was full-go. I liked that. I like hitting. The defense was playing good and I liked what the offense looked like.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mooberry said that Nebraska\u2019s head coach was very involved in the scrimmage. Matt Rhule<\/a> was everywhere, giving praise and correcting people. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe cool thing about coach Rhule is that he\u2019s in everything. He\u2019s right there in the play. He has the whistle and he will blow it and tell them what they are doing good or what they\u2019re doing bad and calling people out. The whole staff had a lot of energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

There might need to be some required clarity around where Nebraska sees Mooberry. He thinks it\u2019s as a linebacker, and he was able to watch some of the things that Nebraska was doing with the linebackers on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that it\u2019s linebacker with coach Dvoracek,\u201d Mooberry said. \u201cI didn\u2019t get to see all of the practice because we did a tour. From what I did see of the linebackers, I liked how they played. He\u2019s getting creative with them. The next time I go back I would like to watch them a little more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saturday felt like an introduction between Pierce Mooberry and Nebraska<\/h2>\n

Iowa State offered Moobery while on a visit to Ames on Thursday. Mooberry acknowledged that the visit on Saturday felt like an introduction between Nebraska and himself. The Huskers want Mooberry to get back to Lincoln this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like the visit this week was about building the relationship with me and seeing who I am out of football. I will likely be back this week on Tuesday for practice. They want me to come back again before the spring game.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tour gave Mooberry a chance to see what Nebraska is building. The new facilities aren\u2019t finished, but what is there now is already impressive.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new facilities are still under construction right now,\u201d Mooberry said. \u201cI feel like the new facilities are going the second to none. I think that they\u2019re going to have a real big advantage with the new facilities to get some players to take a look at them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mooberry will likely be back in Lincoln this weekend. The question becomes whether he will be back once or twice. He has another opportunity to return for the spring game, but there is another spring game he\u2019s invited to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am in a spot here if I want to go to Nebraska\u2019s spring game or go to Iowa State\u2019s spring game. They are on the same day. I have a decision to make.\u201d<\/p>\n
