He is still coveted in Gainesville. Montrell Johnson, however, will have a major impact on the final number though, as it will depend on whether he declares for the NFL Draft after next season.

Regardless of how it plays out though, Gage says the Gators’ current situation does not affect their standing on his list.

“It’s no big deal to me,” Gage told Gators Online. “I love competition. Competition never scared me away, so three backs is nothing to me; it’s like having no backs there.”

When speaking about the Gators in the past, one plus about the program Gage often brought up was his relationship with Jabbar Juluke. He has always appreciated the assistant’s genuine approach and how he does not beat around the bush with answers.

As you can expect. that was evident on Thursday when discussing UF’s plans at running back this cycle.

“He told me he can see me out there playing, and I can envision that myself,” Gage said. “It felt good talking to Juluke after the game, so it was a good visit.

“The backs looked wonderful. I saw (Treyaun) Webb and he looks like he is transitioning to the speed of college real nice. I can tell coach Juluke coached him up real well.”

Gage has locked in multiple official visits

As for his official visit plans, Gage has itinerary set with Oklahoma and Colorado.

The Gators are definitely on the junior’s short list and will receive another visit in the future, but I would be surprised if he ended up in the class. Additional schools are more realistic landing spots at this time, like those aforementioned schools, Miami and possibly Penn State.

If Chauncey Bowens or Kahnen Daniels de-committed, however, that would be a whole different story.

“I want to take a couple game officials and a couple summer officials. I don’t know if I want to take all five; I will probably take three or four,” Gage said. “I probably want to make a decision before senior year.”

During the 2022 season, Gage rushed for 704 yards and 14 touchdowns behind 5.1 yards per carry.

Stay tuned to Gators Online.

The post Two-back class not pushing 4-star Stacy Gage away from the Florida Gators appeared first on On3.

Although the Gators already hold commitments from multiple On300 running backs, four-star prospect Stacy Gage…

[1

post-2688","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
