King George (Va.) 2024 wide receiver Mekhai White<\/a><\/strong> will be committing later than he anticipated. White set a commitment date for May 12 back in January. <\/p>\n

That has changed. White has slowed things down and now expects to commit in late summer. He will take his official visits in June before making a decision. <\/p>\n

White has seen his recruitment shift a bit recently. He visited Georgia over the weekend. It was his fifth time in Athens. White says he has Georgia high on his board and solidly in his top three or four schools. <\/a>He\u2019ll visit Miami on Friday through Saturday.<\/p>\n

Mekhai White loving what Michigan has to offer<\/h2>\n

Michigan has been a hot school for White in recent weeks. On3\u2019s Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a> currently favors the Wolverines. Michigan has a 72.6 percent chance of landing White as of now.<\/p>\n

White admits Michigan has his attention for multiple reasons. Near the top of that list is head coach Jim Harbough. White visited the Wolverines for the first time back on March 14. <\/p>\n

That visit left a mark on White.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey showed a lot of love,\u201d White told On3. \u201cThere was a lot of love and hospitality. When I stepped on campus it felt like home. The coaching staff, I love every single one of them. Coach Ron Bellamy<\/a><\/strong>, coach (Jim) Harbaugh<\/a><\/strong>. These are legends. Playing for him would be like a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

White admits the Michigan offer caused him to pause and pivot a bit in how his recruitment was going as a whole. He had to make room for Michigan to begin building a bond with him. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew it was coming, I didn\u2019t really think my thought process changed but it really changed my recruitment,\u201d White said. \u201cThey went right to the top.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others marching toward the top<\/h2>\n

Miami, Tennessee and LSU have been two new programs beginning to take a spot near the top for White as well. <\/p>\n

Tennessee\u2019s offense has White\u2019s attention. <\/p>\n

\u201cWith Tennesee, I like that offense,\u201d White said. \u201cThey have a new offensive coordinator, so I\u2019ll see what it\u2019s like this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miami offered back in March. White will make his way to Coral Gables for the first time this weekend. White admits there is still a lot to be learned about the Hurricanes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really have a feel for Miami yet,\u201d White said. \u201cIt\u2019s Miami so. I talk to them almost every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

White and LSU talk on a regular basis. Brian Kelly <\/a><\/strong>is personally involved in recruiting White. <\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Kelly is a cool guy,\u201d White said. \u201cI talk to him about once a week. He\u2019s got a great culture down there in Death Valley.\u201d<\/p>\n
