He’s made stops at Georgia, LSU and Auburn, as well as in-state to Texas Tech to open April before making his way to Texas A&M this past weekend.

After exploring several major contenders outside of the Lone Star State, Poe has been in Lubbock and College Station on consecutive weekends. The elite offensive lineman noted that the highlight of his time back at Texas A&M was the attention to small details along those lines.

“We really cut it down to the basics,” Poe said of his conversations with the coaches at Texas A&M. “I asked the small questions and we really got to know each other. They told me about why they got into coaching, and what it’s like in their day-by-day, and I shared my aspersions and why I do what I do. My parents got the chance to talk and ask questions also.”

Family is playing a massive role in Poe’s decision. The Lindale (Texas) High School blue-chipper has a national offer sheet, but in-state programs like Texas A&M have a unique advantage.

“A huge factor that they bring to the table is the proximity to home,” Poe explained. “Being that close means when my family and really whoever from home wants to come to watch me play, they can.
