That resulted in more impressive TV ratings for college football, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsmediawatch.com\/college-football-tv-ratings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to <em>Sports Media Watch<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/oklahoma-sooners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma<\/a><\/strong> vs. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/texas-longhorns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a><\/strong> was one of the most exciting games of the day as the two teams square off at the Cotton Bowl. It came down to the final minute when the Sooners found the end zone to upset the No. 3-ranked Longhorns, 34-31. As a result, it was also the highest-rated game of the day \u2014 but not by much.<\/p>\n<p>More than 7 million people also tuned in for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/alabama-crimson-tide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alabama<\/a><\/strong> vs. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/texas-am-aggies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas A&amp;M<\/a><\/strong> in a game that could play a major role in deciding the SEC West champion. Of course, there were some other notable games, including No. 25\u2019s upset victory over No. 10 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/notre-dame-fighting-irish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notre Dame<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/usc-trojans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USC\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> double-overtime victory over <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/arizona-wildcats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona<\/a><\/strong> that got the full Pac-12 After Dark experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Oklahoma vs. Texas<\/h2>\n<p>Bryan Terry | THE OKLAHOMAN | USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ABC\/ESPN2<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 noon ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 7.87 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Red River Shootout certainly lived up to its name last week as Oklahoma fought off Texas to win the highly anticipated showdown. As a result, the Sooners moved up to No. 5 in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/news\/ap-poll-top-25-rankings-update-week-6-georgia-michigan-oklahoma-college-football\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP Top 25<\/a><\/strong>, and the victory had some of the highest TV ratings of the college football season so far. <\/p>\n<h2>Texas A&amp;M vs. Alabama<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: CBS<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 3:30 p.m.ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 7.23 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alabama vs. Texas A&amp;M had some major implications in the SEC West since both teams came into the game undefeated in league play. The Crimson Tide ultimately came away with the 26-20 win at Kyle Field despite trailing at halftime and are now in first place in the division.<\/p>\n<h2>Notre Dame vs. Louisville<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ABC<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 5.12 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Louisville punched Notre Dame in the mouth early in the Fighting Irish\u2019s third straight prime time game, and the Cardinals didn\u2019t let up en route to the 33-20 victory. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/jeff-brohm-133414\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeff Brohm\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> group looked strong in the effort, which saw more than 5 million fans turn to ABC for some impressive TV ratings.<\/p>\n<h2>Maryland vs. Ohio State<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Barbara J. Perenic\/The Columbus Dispatch \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: FOX<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 noon ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 4.51 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/maryland-terrapins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryland<\/a><\/strong> looked like it was preparing to pull off a stunner at The Horseshoe, but <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/marvin-harrison-jr-84618\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marvin Harrison Jr.<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/ohio-state-buckeyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio State<\/a><\/strong> turned things around to get a 37-17 home victory. FOX\u2019s \u201cBig Noon Kickoff\u201d game once again delivered as the matchup turned in the fourth-highest TV ratings in college football from Week 6.<\/p>\n<h2>Kentucky vs. Georgia<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Joshua L. Jones \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 7 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 3.19 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/kentucky-wildcats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kentucky<\/a><\/strong> entered Week 6 with some momentum on the heels of a victory over <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/florida-gators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a><\/strong>, but the Wildcats were no match for a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/georgia-bulldogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a><\/strong> team that looks to find its stride. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/carson-beck-18711\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carson Beck<\/a><\/strong> had a monster day on a big stage as the Bulldogs continued their run of dominance with a 51-13 win.<\/p>\n<h2>Michigan vs. Minnesota<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: NBC<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 3.06 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a><\/strong> once again dominated on both sides of the ball against <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/minnesota-golden-gophers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota<\/a><\/strong>, cruising past the Golden Gophers 52-10 in prime time as part of the Big Ten\u2019s new slot on NBC. Despite the blowout, more than 3 million people turned to NBC, marking the third time the network drew that audience this season.<\/p>\n<h2>Virginia Tech vs. Florida State<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ABC<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 3:30 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 3.02 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/florida-state-seminoles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida State<\/a><\/strong> continues to have its sights set on an ACC title, and the Seminoles got another easy win out of the bye week, defeating <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/virginia-tech-hokies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia Tech<\/a><\/strong> 39-17. FSU has been one of the most impressive teams in the country this season and remains a big draw from a ratings perspective.<\/p>\n<h2>Arizona vs. USC<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 10:30 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 2.55 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a game that went until 2:30 a.m. ET, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/caleb-williams-17251\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caleb Williams<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/usc-trojans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USC<\/a><\/strong> came through in double overtime to hold off <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/arizona-wildcats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona<\/a><\/strong> in a thriller. More than 2.5 million people stayed up for the game, which saw Williams make a huge two-point conversion in the extra period to help the Trojans stay undefeated.<\/p>\n<h2>LSU vs. Missouri<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 7 \u2013 noon ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 2.34 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/lsu-tigers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LSU<\/a><\/strong> vs. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/missouri-tigers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri<\/a><\/strong> was another exciting finish in the noon window, and it was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/jayden-daniels-58632\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jayden Daniels\u2019<\/a><\/strong> Tigers knocking off <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/brady-cook-11847\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brady Cook\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> Tigers 49-39. LSU has been up and down to start the year, but Daniels\u2019 Heisman Trophy candidacy continues to grow amid impressive TV ratings.<\/p>\n<h2>Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 SARAH PHIPPS\/THE OKLAHOMAN \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Date\/Time: Oct. 6 \u2013 7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 2.27 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ESPN got a nice TV ratings win with its Friday night college football slate. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/oklahoma-state-cowboys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma State<\/a><\/strong> entered the game against <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/kansas-state-wildcats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kansas State<\/a><\/strong> as a home underdog, but the Cowboys pulled off the 29-21 victory to stun the reigning Big 12 champion in front of more than 2 million people.<\/p>\n<p>With conference play approaching, college football looks like it can continue its impressive TV ratings run.
