No. 19 Tennessee<\/a> (4-1, 1-1 SEC) comes off the bye week to host Texas A&M<\/a> (4-2, 2-2) on Saturday (3:30 p.m. Eastern Time, CBS<\/a>) at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville in the Vols\u2019 annual \u2018Checker Neyland\u2019 game<\/a>. <\/p>\n

While Tennessee was off last week, Texas A&M lost 26-20 to No. 11 Alabama at Kyle Field in College Station. Texas A&M started the season with a 52-10 home win over New Mexico. The Aggies lost 48-33 a week later at Miami before bouncing back with three straight wins. <\/p>\n

They beat Louisiana Monroe 49-3 and Auburn 27-10 in back-to-back home games, then beat Arkansas 34-22 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas before the home loss to Alabama. <\/p>\n

Max Johnson<\/a><\/strong> was forced to take over at quarterback for A&M after Connor Weigman<\/a><\/strong> suffered a season-ending foot injury. Johnson has completed 51 of 84 passes for 675 yards with seven touchdowns and and two interceptions.<\/p>\n

Le\u2019Veon Mos<\/a><\/strong>s and Amari Daniels<\/a><\/strong> lead A&M on the ground. Moss has 62 carries for 325 yards and three touchdowns while Daniels has 287 yards and two touchdowns on 53 carries. <\/p>\n

Evan Stewart<\/a><\/strong> leads the team in receptions (24) and receiving touchdowns (4) and is second in yards (403), just behind of Ainias Smith<\/a><\/strong>, who has 431 yards on 26 catches. Noah Thomas<\/a><\/strong> has four touchdown catches and 118 yards on 11 receptions.<\/p>\n

Tennessee has played Texas A&M just twice since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012 and only four times in the history of the two programs, with both teams winning twice. The Vols lost 45-38 in overtime at Kyle Field in 2016 and lost 34-13 in Knoxville in December 2020, during the COVID-shortened season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tennessee beat Texas A&M 38-7 in the Cotton Bowl on New Year\u2019s Day 2005 and beat the Aggies 3-0 in the Gator Bowl in December 1957.<\/p>\n
