New York Giants (1-3) offensive lineman Evan Neal<\/a><\/strong> took issue with fans booing the team during the 24-3 Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) Monday. <\/p>\n

Two days removed from the Giants\u2019 offensive line allowing quarterback Daniel Jones<\/a><\/strong> to be sacked 10 times, Neal fired back at fans who showered MetLife Stadium with boos. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhy would a lion concern himself with the opinion of a sheep?\u201d Neal said Wednesday, via NJ.com<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThe person that\u2019s commenting on my performance, what does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?\u201d<\/p>\n

Neal, New York\u2019s first-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama, has struggled since entering the league. After allowing seven sacks as a rookie, Neal has recorded a 42.5 overall grade through four games in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n

Evan Neal calls out \u2018fair-weather\u2019 Giants fans<\/h2>\n

Neal has become subject to criticism from Giants fans for his play, which has been reminiscent of infamous first-round bust Ereck Flowers<\/a><\/strong>. While Neal understands he needs to play better, he\u2019s got no time for \u201cfair-weather\u201d fans. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause that just further shows that people are fair-weather,\u201d Neal said. \u201cA lot of fans are bandwagoners. I mean, I get it. They want to see us perform well. And I respect all of that. But no one wants us to perform well more than we do. And how can you say you\u2019re really a fan when we\u2019re out there battling our asses off \u2014 and the game wasn\u2019t going well \u2014 but the best you can do is boo your home team?<\/p>\n

\u201cSo how much of a fan are you, really?\u201d<\/p>\n

Neal\u2019s comments didn\u2019t go over so well in New York, especially with one popular talk radio host. Don La Greca, co-host of \u201cThe Michael Kay Host,\u201d unleashed on Neal during Wednesday\u2019s show, calling him a \u201cpiece of human trash.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d rather have a guy that\u2019s flipping hamburgers block than your piece of garbage ass,\u201d La Greca said, via Awful Announcing<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWho the hell are you to talk to fans like that, you piece of garbage?\u2026 These Giants fans were here before you, and they\u2019ll be here after your sorry ass is cut. What a piece of human trash.\u201d<\/p>\n
