Auburn in September offered Andrew Dennis<\/a><\/strong>, a big offensive lineman from Mt. Pleasant, Mich. The Tigers do not typically recruit the state of Michigan, but offensive line coach Jake Thornton is making an exception.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had been talking to Coach Thornton,\u201d Dennis said. \u201cHe first reached out and then it kind of progressed from there. He told me he liked my film a lot and decided to offer me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dennis was happy with the offer. So were his parents. There\u2019s a connection with Auburn and the Dennis family.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy parents lived in Alabama when my dad was in the Army,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd when they lived there, they were big Auburn fans, so it\u2019s definitely a cool offer for me and my family. My parents were pretty excited about the offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dennis has Auburn sources<\/h2>\n

Dennis has begun doing research on Auburn and Thornton. He has a good source in Dylan Senda<\/a><\/strong>, a former Dearborn (Mich.) standout who transferred to Auburn after signing with Northwestern.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met Dylan during the recruitment process and have talked to him about Auburn,\u201d Dennis said. \u201cHe\u2019s had nothign but good things to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

That goes for Thornton, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Thornton seems like a great coach,\u201d he said. \u201cI have talked to Dylan about him and he really likes Coach Thornton and Coach (Hugh) Freeze. I have heard nothing but good things about Auburn and about them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Good enough that Dennis now is considering a visit to Auburn.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing set in stone as of right now, but it\u2019s definitely a possibility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Still committed to Michigan State<\/h2>\n

Although Michigan State recently fired Mel Tucker and is in the process of hiring a replacement, Dennis said he remains committed to the Spartans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still committed right now, but also looking at other possibilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Other schools under consideration are Auburn, Penn State, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Nebraska and Georgia Tech.<\/p>\n

Dennis does not have any visits scheduled at this time.<\/p>\n

The On3 Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ranks Dennis the No. 35 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 class. He also ranks the No. 7 overall recruit in Michigan and No. 393 in the country.<\/p>\n

Dennis is listed at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds.<\/p>\n
