Louisville<\/a><\/strong> isn\u2019t afraid to utilize some unusual strategies. During the team\u2019s 56-28 win over Boston College<\/a><\/strong> in Week 4, Louisville offensive lineman Willie Tyler<\/a><\/strong> randomly performed a cartwheel mid-play.<\/p>\n

If the jaw-dropping maneuver didn\u2019t distract Boston College\u2019s defense, it certainly distracted fans. Social media stormed with videos of the acrobatic mishap. After the win, Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm<\/a><\/strong> pulled back the curtain on the play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted him to do the splits, but he couldn\u2019t quite get that, so he went with the cartwheel,\u201d Brohm said.<\/a><\/strong> \u201cThe play actually didn\u2019t get open, we were hoping it would, but it obviously didn\u2019t distract anybody other than our fans, maybe.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we scrambled \u2013 actually we fumbled the ball and we scrambled, but you know what, that\u2019s a play where you just kind of split the tackle out, you sneak the tight end at the tackle position, hope to get him down the middle and they pointed to the tight end, so they recognized \u2013 that\u2019s a smart football team \u2013 they recognized it.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was one of the few times on Saturday that Louisville\u2019s offense didn\u2019t succeed. In the win, the Cardinals\u2019 offense exploded for 582 yards, 388 passing yards alone. Louisville was wildly efficient, connecting on 18-of-its-21 (85.7%) pass attempts.<\/p>\n

Further, the Cardinals committed just four penalties compared to BC\u2019s seven violations. This isn\u2019t the first time Brohm\u2019s coaching style has shined this season. Louisville is 4-0, boasting an average win margin of 24 points per outing.<\/p>\n

With so much success, Brohm doesn\u2019t plan on minimizing his off-the-wall methods anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the tackle, each week we change up what acrobatic jump or splits or sprint he\u2019s going to do,\u201d Brohm said. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what was coming, so I\u2019m looking forward to seeing it on film.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyler\u2019s gymanstics wasn\u2019t the only thing Brohm had to look forward to on the film. Louisville QB Jack Plummer<\/a><\/strong> posted his best performance yet this season, completing 18-of-21 passes (85.7%) as he threw for 388 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great day for Jack,\u201d Brohm said following the win. \u201cHe puts in the time. He is committed. He wants to do well. Sometimes, he wants to do so well, I think he presses. So, we just worked on relaxing and trusting what you do in practice every day and throw with conviction and standing on balance and trusting their protection\u2026 Jack was as sharp as he\u2019s ever been.\u201d<\/p>\n
