During his show Wednesday, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt<\/strong> named the 2023 college football teams that are \u201cabove the line<\/a><\/strong>\u201d \u2014 by his standards, the ones he think can still legitimately win a national championship this season. Notre Dame was not among them. <\/p>\n

Klatt had the Fighting Irish as the first team below the line. <\/p>\n

\u201cI had to draw the line somewhere and I had to draw it above Notre Dame,\u201d Klatt said. \u201cAnd the reason was is that, as positively as I feel about Notre Dame coming out of the game against Ohio State \u2014 and I really do, I was impressed with them, I think that they have a quarterback that is a real quarterback now, it takes them, their ceiling is so much higher than it has been over the last few years, they\u2019re talented \u2014 and yet they had the home field advantage, they had the momentum on their side in the second half, they had it right there for the taking and still got beat. So, it\u2019s like, all of the ghosts for Notre Dame are still there. They still haven\u2019t done it.\u201d<\/p>\n
