Six ranked matchups highlighted the loaded slate of games, and that led to some impressive TV ratings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsmediawatch.com\/college-football-tv-ratings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to <em>Sports Media Watch<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From the first games at noon ET to the last games which ended in the early hours of Sunday, fans were locked in to their TVs for some marquee matchups. The biggest draw was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/deion-sanders-133929\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deion Sanders<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/colorado-buffaloes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colorado<\/a><\/strong> as they headed to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/oregon-ducks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oregon<\/a><\/strong> to face <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/dan-lanning-134322\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dan Lanning\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> Ducks. That helped set the table for the highly anticipated primetime showdown between No. 6 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/ohio-state-buckeyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio State<\/a><\/strong> and No. 9 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/notre-dame-fighting-irish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notre Dame<\/a><\/strong>, and that game delivered in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>The Nielsen ratings showed people were dialed in for a jam-packed day of college football.<\/p>\n<h2>Colorado at Oregon<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Chris Pietsch \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABC<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-3:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>10.03 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Colorado has been the story of college football this year as Coach Prime took over the program, and the game against Oregon was the biggest of the year even though the Buffs got blown out 42-6. Sanders\u2019 group remains one of the top draws in the game this season, and that will likely be the case again this week when CU takes on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/usc-trojans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USC<\/a><\/strong> Saturday in the early window at noon ET\u00a0\u2014 which is 9 a.m. PT.<\/p>\n<h2>Ohio State at Notre Dame<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>NBC<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>9.98 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A top-10 showdown in Week 4 lived up to the billing as Ohio State punched in a last-second touchdown to avoid the upset at Notre Dame and jump into the top four of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/news\/ap-poll-top-25-rankings-updated-week-4-college-football-georgia-ohio-state-michigan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP Top 25<\/a><\/strong>. NBC said the game came in as the network\u2019s second-highest TV audience ever as the college football world turned its eyes to South Bend for arguably the game of the year.<\/p>\n<h2>Florida State at Clemson<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABC<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-noon ET<\/strong>, <strong>6.71 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s never easy to play in Death Valley \u2014 even during the day \u2014 which is why <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/florida-state-seminoles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida State<\/a><\/strong> vs. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/clemson-tigers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clemson<\/a><\/strong> was a fun start to the day. They ended up going to overtime as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/keon-coleman-73601\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keon Coleman<\/a><\/strong> hauled in a 24-yard touchdown to keep the Seminoles undefeated and squarely in the College Football Playoff mix.<\/p>\n<h2>Ole Miss at Alabama<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>CBS<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-3:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>4.61 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s always a big game when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/nick-saban-133646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nick Saban<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/lane-kiffin-135051\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lane Kiffin<\/a><\/strong> square off, especially when the conversations get fun off the field. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/alabama-crimson-tide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alabama<\/a><\/strong> still has some questions to answer, but the Crimson Tide did just enough to come away with a 24-10 victory at Bryant Denny Stadium in CBS\u2019 biggest game of the day.<\/p>\n<h2>Iowa at Penn State<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Dan Rainville \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>CBS<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.75 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some were surprised to find out CBS\u2019 lead broadcasting crew went to Happy Valley instead of Tuscaloosa, but the White Out game delivered once again. <strong>Penn State<\/strong> dominated <strong>Iowa<\/strong> en route to the 31-0 shutout, and the Big Ten on CBS got a nice win in its first primetime window of the new media deal considering the lopsided score.<\/p>\n<h2>USC at Arizona State<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Rob Schumacher\/The Republic \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOX<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-10:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.63 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was another late kickoff for <strong>Caleb Williams<\/strong> and <strong>USC<\/strong>, but <strong>Arizona State<\/strong> made things interesting early on. But the Trojans fought off the Sun Devils in front of an impressive audience considering the game ended early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<h2>Texas at Baylor<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Ricardo B. Brazziell\/American-Statesman \/ USA TODAY NETWORK<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABC<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-7:30 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.63 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Texas<\/strong> at <strong>Baylor<\/strong> felt like one of the more underrated matchups of the day, but the Longhorns showed out once again en route to the 38-6 victory. It\u2019s always an important game when the in-state conference foes square off, and the viewership showed that even despite the blowout.<\/p>\n<h2>Arkansas at LSU<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESPN<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-7 p.m. ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.44 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The primetime slate was a packed one, and <strong>Arkansas<\/strong> at <strong>LSU<\/strong> was another thriller in that slot. The two teams were tied with 5:06 to play, but <strong>Jayden Daniels<\/strong> managed to milk the clock to set up the game-winning field goal and give the Tigers a 34-31 victory as time ticked away.<\/p>\n<h2>Auburn at Texas A&amp;M<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESPN<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-noon ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.18 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The matchup with <strong>Auburn<\/strong> was a big one for <strong>Texas A&amp;M<\/strong>, and the Aggies lost starting quarterback <strong>Conner Weigman<\/strong> to injury. But <strong>Max Johnson<\/strong> stepped up to the challenge to lead <strong>Jimbo Fisher\u2019s<\/strong> group to the 27-10 victory and\u00a0quiet down some of the noise around the program \u2014 at least, for now.<\/p>\n<h2>Oklahoma at Cincinnati<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a9 Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOX<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 23-noon ET<\/strong>, <strong>2.17 million viewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cincinnati<\/strong> got its first taste of Big 12 play with FOX\u2019s Big Noon game, but saw <strong>Brent Venables\u2019<\/strong> defense stymy the offense as <strong>Oklahoma<\/strong> got the 20-6 victory. The Sooners remain undefeated to start Venables\u2019 second year at the helm, which could create some momentums in the ratings with the Red River matchup against Texas looming next week.<\/p>\n<p>The Week 5 schedule of games has a lot to live up to after some close finishes and so many ranked matchups in Week 4.
